The Adventure Game. And yes, looks like a certain isometric futuristic game whose name I cannot quite place. Well this bit of the show is obvious: https://s2.dmcdn.net/v/SjzNZ1WbegQg0Wova/x1080 https://cdn.mobygames.com/screenshots/16006700-puzznic-zx-spectrum-loading-screen.png https://cdn.mobygam...

Re: The Horace Collection | Kickstarter
Nice collection, and clearly a work of love. Though perhaps the project might have felt a little more justified if there were some new game content on offer, even just something tokenistic? An idea that comes to mind is you could make a single 48k cassette release featuring all three small games, ac...

Re: SHEEPISH-so much violence in the world of herding!
As for game bugs, one of the problems Gabriele had with AGDx Mini was that the final game only runs on 128k machines (despite being >48k). If anyone knows an easy fix then please let him know. And to clarify about the music… The in-game tune is indeed "Hungry Like The Wolf" by Duran Duran ...

Congratulations to Gabriele on another great and fun game! It was an honour to provide the music. (Credit to Duran Duran for the in-game tune I remixed.)

Re: How big should new Speccy games be? 48k? Bigger? Release 2 versions?
Quick AGD Question:
A friend of mine is working on a game that's under 48k in total, but he's saying AGDx mini can only generate games that run on 128k machines! Surely this can't be right? Anyone know a solution?

Re: Branding in games
I'm sure theres a game (Maybe more than one) with Mcdonalds golden arches in it. I remember it too, but it was on the Amiga: https://amiga.abime.net/box_preview/2401-2500/2429_preview0.jpg https://www.lemonamiga.com/games/media/screens/full/mcdonald_land/mcdonald_land_07.png https://www.lemonamiga....

Re: Guess the screen$
LOL. I do really feel it's something around that late era, around '91/'92.
I'll go with Double Dragon 3. (If it's Robocop 3 then Morkin wins!)

↑ I wasn't too familiar with Streethawk but it seems this gorgeous little graphic pops up several times during the game. Would be nice to have a whole game in this style.

Re: Did actual game code get bigger as game machines evolved? (Excluding graphics and audio)
No. The more code you can have, the richer your game world can be. The more nuance you can implement, deeper and richer your AI can be. That is fascinating, and something I hadn't considered before. But while having too little space to code can no doubt be frustrating, I'm guessing that having too ...

Re: How big should new Speccy games be? 48k? Bigger? Release 2 versions?
As a coder I never understand why those AY musicians need more than 6K for just one simple AY tune. For example The Legend of Zelda (as a NES game) had all its tunes and sound effects and player in 1 bank of 16K. But somehow we need more than 6K for just one song? ;) I'd agree that most Speccy tune...

Re: Did actual game code get bigger as game machines evolved? (Excluding graphics and audio)
As a non-coder, I'm still trying to get some idea of how much code is "enough" for most games? What is a comfortable amount to work with? Speccy games are mostly all under 48k. Maybe we could double or quadruple this for SNES or N64 games to give the code more "breathing room"? B...
