Re: New forum game -- Spectrum graphics in the real world?
I added the arcade version of this to my RetroPie setup and was quite taken aback when I gave it a try recently! If you've ever wondered why the playing area sometimes seems quite small and there are large areas of brick wall background - well, let's just say, on the arcade original (unless...

Re: Pacman RX WIP
This is actually my fifth 'golden age' arcade conversion… Forgive my ignorance. Many of your previous games don't seem to have had a lot of exposure, which is a shame. The audio in your game is really fantastic and probably what stands out the most to me. Your "eat ghost" noise is even cl...

Re: Pacman RX WIP
Incredible, this is so good! After all these decades of (great) Spectrum Pac-man games, it finally feels like the definitive version has arrived. Makes me wonder if you might tackle some other classic titles.

LOL. Does Jet Set Willy count as you basically seem like a servant to Maria?Evil Genius wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2024 1:21 pm Is correct! And actually, Juan's guess of Flunky was pretty close in that both games are 'butler-em-ups' (a small genre that includes Trap Door, any others?)

I didn't have a problem with the top of a blender being called a shaker, it's basically just a big electric shaker.

:D :D I always remember when Steve Wright was on in the afternoon on Radio 1 and he'd have some voice-over guy saying 'chaka demus and his arc welder' . I've no idea why but that really used to tickle me :D :D Ah I shall miss Steve Wright. Funny that I hadn't actually listened to him for years, but...

Nice nostalgic thread! :-) Sounds like some of you had fantastic introductory game packs to the Spectrum, especially Pete Prodge! Alas, my game pack was the Christmas 1986 Dixons Spectrum +2 bundle featuring ten mostly incredibly bland games… Mr Micro software: https://i.postimg.cc/9X9MzGcm/Untitled...

Rick Dangerous . https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/SCRtoImage.php?SCR=/conv_scr/r/RickDangerous.scr&border=0 There are some visibility issues and poor colour choices—this is a game that would benefit from the @Ralf treatment. Personally I've always really loved the colours in Rick Dangerous.

I can confirm that some "girls" in Speccy industry were not real . A wise man named Morpheus once said: "What If I told you everything you knew was a lie?" Though it turns out Morpheus never actually said this line, so everything you thought you knew was a lie. Plus Morpheus nev...

Re: Lara Croft voted most iconic character ever
I may have shot down my own arguments here. Just asked my girlfriend - who is not a gamer unless you count The Sims or those rollercoaster games - to name a videogame character. Without the slightest pause: "Lara Croft". Then again, if you ask a woman, the answer may be more likely to be ...

A small suggestion, but how about updating the girl's hair to look a little more Japanese and more like the cover art? (I changed her body slightly too.)
