Could it look like this I did here with 'paint'? And would it move without color clash
depends on what kind of multiload is it
but just for the car most likely yes

Saboteur instead of Robocop (tho it's not a scroller if it matters)
Rex instead of Jetpac (or Deathchase if it has to be an early one)

also, no Gargoyle titles? and not a single spanish game?

game pack update

i don't usually colorize AGD games (too much hassle and the same gameplay in most of them) but this time meet both parts of Savage Princess (thanks to being made free recently). Play them till the end even if completed before, i think it's worth it. Note (like with any other game with xored sprites)...

Re: SHEEPISH-so much violence in the world of herding!

good work! well, didn't expect any less from this author ;)

however, with this game engine i expected some gfx glitches as well - and there is at least one
sometimes, parts of the shepherd sprite remain in the bottom rows of the screen
i wonder if it's possible to fix it?

Re: 2d and other graphics modes

Other options for flat 2d are 1st-person (usually a view from a racing car, a crosshair for FPS shooters) Behind view (racing genre is the only that comes to my mind) it's not "flat" even if some objects are flat (but are scaled according to the distance) also even sprite racing games usu...

good work and much better than the original! well, except that title screen, sorry Ralf  there's one annoying problem however: some big bushes may hide the monsters completely and it's very easy to jump into them either make the whole bush lower, or even better - make it uneven height with gaps...

Re: Oblique 3D Graphics - true or not?

Put a piece of paper over the entire right hand side of the screen. Everything still visible on the left side is obviously oblique, all the lines are parallel. Now move the paper to the left hand side and observe the same is true of the right. Just because you then stitch the two together, it doesn...

Re: Oblique 3D Graphics - true or not?

Well it sort of is. no, it isn't - "oblique" belongs to "parallel" group where "parallel" means "all originally parallel lines remain parallel in the pic" which is obviously not the case here (unless you want to believe the original angles were all meant to b...

List of all games with Oblique 3D Graphics https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/list?group_id=11005 Spike in Transylvania is missing here Pandemia is not oblique (and not even parallel) also not sure if Survival ZX belongs here They're all oblique projections, since none of them apply perspective. Re: Game versions 48K vs 128K

You'd think that, but it often wasn't the case. Probably a lot of developers had routines built for the 48K, which often used linear screen layouts, and didn't fancy re-writing them for a pure 128 solution. Also banking on the Speccy 128 was a bit janky - having to have the "normal" scree...

Re: Saboteur 2 mod

Nope. But you can see it in the official 2019 remake for modern platforms. well i thought something simpler and cheaper for the spectrum version - like you can hear a roar in the neraby rooms then the background goes all red, then yellow, then white, then filled with solid white, then it goes back ...

Re: How big should new Speccy games be? 48k? Bigger? Release 2 versions?

I suggested limiting the extra 80k to "music and pictures" because it means your actual game will be identical on all machines, with only one version of the game to worry about coding (and testing) instead of two. Simple is better. Singleload is better than multiload. If ANY kind of data ...

Re: Unnecessary inclusions in games

I play the arcade version under emulation rather than the Speccy version these days, but that weapon is so much more useful against the Level 3 giant ship as the shots track along its surface, taking out bits of the hull (for points) and embedded gun emplacements that are otherwise hard to shoot. I...

if you have a DivMMC try R-Type GT on a real speccy ,it's a SCL file but can be converted to TRD. The 128k music and effects really do the business. https://youtu.be/La-lQ5MGgr8?si=2ILZ8g0Dr3QeY_EY unfortunately since one AY channel is used for sfx the music sounds too shallow there's a fresh 2024 ...
