Re: Video: Inves Spectrum+ A Rare ZX Spectrum+ Clone from Investronica
I really enjoy your video's. They are paced perfectly and are very informative. I also like the fact you do not edit out your mistakes. I eagerly await the conclusion to the very messy Spectravideo machine. Thank you! I really appreciate that comment. Especially in light of today's video and second...

Video: Inves Spectrum+ A Rare ZX Spectrum+ Clone from Investronica
Here I have a look at the Inves Spectrum+, an interesting Sinclair ZX Spectrum+ clone by Investronica, the same company that designed the ZX Spectrum 128K "Toastrack".

Video: ZX Spectrum +3 Sound Distortion Analysis and Fix
This is the followup to the video from a couple of weeks ago. I know there are plenty of places online that show how to fix the sound distortion, but I figured it would be interesting to see exactly WHY it's happening and how to fix it.

Video: Fixing Bad Video Quality on ZX Spectrum
t's pretty common for the classic ZX Spectrum and ZX Spectrum+ to have pretty bad image quality. Most of the time it's not just the RF that is to blame, but it's mostly due to the bad electrolytic capacitors. In this video I diagnose and fix that problem and we learn some more about how the voltage-...

Re: Spectrum+ 48k repair
I haven't read the whole thread, but did you change the capacitors? With problems like these, you might as well start there. That way you can rule that out as a potential problem.

Video: ZX Spectrum 128K Toastrack Repair and Restoration
Sinclair ZX Spectrum 128K "Toastrack" Investronica edition repair and restoration. Again "untested" meant "not working", but in the end we were able to leave it as good as new.

Re: Faulty 128K +2A
Well, the +2 doesn't have much else to go wrong, so chances are it's a bad ASIC (which is a bummer).
Just to make sure, you can run the ZX Diagnostics ROM and see if it reports anything. While you're at it, remove the two ROM chips just in case they're hugely shorted and bringing the buses down.

Introduction and Speccy Tune Up Video
Hi everybody! Long-time lurker, first time posting here. Some of you might remember me from waaay back in the day when I was maintaining the nvg archives for Spectrum and Amstrad games. That was retro before it was really retro :-) In the last few years I've been getting a lot into electronics and c...
