Happy anyway :-)
This december I've managed to put into operation my two spectrums from childhood plus another one donated by a friend. I've spent a lot of time and some money but these efforts had their reward - all of them are in full working order now :) Yesterday I finished refurbishment of my +3 - New capacitor...

Missing data??
I have imported a local copy of ZXDB (I had an older one from two years ago) and found the script I use for exporting an XML collection was missing some titles. I use this query: SELECT entries.id, entries.title, entries.library_title, genretypes.text as genre, labels.name as label, releases.release...

Re: Different behavior under +3 tape and disk?
Yes same happens here too with startup speech and music in some games, at least with Spectaculator. I've tried Enigma Force on a real +3 and it works fine, so it seems it's an emulation issue. Will try other emulatros and see if it happens too.

Different behavior under +3 tape and disk?
I'm trying to transfer some games to disk. When doing this something I can not understand happened with a couple of them. One is Enigma Force, I can't remember the other one: If you play it from tape (with +3 ROM) the game starts normally. The game music starts from the begining. If you make a snaps...

Cobra bugfix
I've been checking my +3 game collection and found a bugfix by Einar Saukas for Cobra. It's supposed to fix this rountine: 95fe: ld bc,$3f28 9601: ld a,c 9602: in a,($ff) ; register 'A' always set to $FF in +2A/+3 9604: cp b 9605: jr nc,$9601 ; repeat forever! 9607: ret But in the...

Re: OpenFlops Gotek Clone
PeterJ I believe the cable is this one: https://www.amazon.com/-/es/cablesonline-36-inch-universal-Floppy-Ribbon/dp/B00FZ3IL80 You may need to add some jumpers to it in order to convert it into secondary drive. I'll let you know once i receive it. The one I got is this one: https:...

Re: OpenFlops Gotek Clone
I'm about to receive a modded gotek with cable for external use. From what I know it uses an old type floppy cable with connection for the +3 drive.

Re: New Utility to Transfer Z80 Snapshot to +3 Disk
I'm using version 2.40 along with your tip for pausing tape after load (whenever it's possible) to avoid the screen corruption issue. I've just used it with The Ice Temple from Bubble Bus and I found a strange behavior: After loading the screen the menu screen scrolls from below??? that doesnt' happ...

Re: Treasure Island Dizzy +3 disk
I wanted also to make a multi game disk. Is it possible to rename the files in the tape (I mean "DZ80TAPD" and "LOADER" bits) to something related to the game name?

Re: Treasure Island Dizzy +3 disk
TomD Thanks for the tip! I've used version 2.4 of your utility and there's no corruption. I'm not sure if this older version can cause any issue?

Treasure Island Dizzy +3 disk
I've been trying to find a copy of the mentioned game for my new gotek floppy. I've found there's a fix from Ast A. Moore but it's a tzx. I've tried TAPonDSK but it seems the loader is not converted. I suppose I could use Z80onDSK by TomD but I'll miss the speac...

Re: +3 image distortion
Updated on this topic: I've replaced the PSU with a new one as seen here: https://knm.org.uk/blog/2016/01/replacing-the-zx-spectrum-3-psu/ and the computer works again! I've also added 1K resistor to r44 as suggested on several sites and now RGB works fine (almost perfect in one TV, with some ghosti...

Re: +3 image distortion
No, I didn't connect the PSU to the +3 after pligging it.
I don't have the knowledge to test what is wrong with the PSU so maybe I'll try to find someone here in Spain to fix it.

Re: +3 image distortion
My guess you had an issue with power supply circuitry (inside the computer). When motor spins it consumes extra power -> your voltages go down -> picture distortion. That's what I was suspecting, the supply line for the video signal going down by not being able to supply enough power when the engin...

Re: +3 image distortion
For now the power supply is dead. The fuses (it has two) are fine but the 12v lines are down and I get weird values on the 5V. It didn't smell or blow, it just didn't start next time I tried to use it. Hope the internals of the computer are fine... For now I've ordered a new power supply following a...

Re: +3 image distortion
Well an hour after posting tried to start the computer again and it is dead. I believe the power supply has gone, I hope it didn't damage the computer itself. It may be coincidence or may be the source of the problem, anyway I have no +3 now
I'll try to find someone to fix the power supply.

+3 image distortion
I've recovered my old speccys that were in the box for the last ten years or so. I've tuned up the two 48k (video mod, new capacitors) but I'm experiencing an issue with the +3. I can't find the scart cable I had so I've used an old LCD monitor with tv. Image is very poor (I suppose it's because of ...

Hi,
I've noticed Sirwood lists an intro screenshot instead of its original loading screen.

This is the correct one: https://zxart.ee/release/id:297516/mode ... rintro.png

TZX CSW files
I'm currently trying to sort my colection of tzx files. I have thousands of them I collected over the years with a lot of files from the same title. Some of them are supposedly different versions from different releases of the same game but I found the data itself is the same, so I am writing a PHP ...
