Re: The best modern Speccy game beginning with T: discussion

Three Octopuses for me. I'm not usually into escort games as I often find them frustrating, but this is just the opposite. Such a fun, well crafted piece of software. It's also one of those rare cases when an AGD game doesn't look, play nor feel like an AGD game.

Re: 'Inspired by' suggestion.

Seems this thread has been overlooked, so I'll give this a bump. Would be nice if the following games mentioned above could have an "inspired by". Crime Busters – inspired by Mappy (Arcade) Pi There! - inspired by I, Robot (Arcade) Robon – inspired by Berzerk (Arcade) Kamikaze – inspired by Sky Kid ...

Re: Little bugs in the database 4

Aliens (US Version) has the wrong text instructions. Not only is it for the wrong game (it's actually for Aliens ) but it's not even a proper transcription. Since the latter game already has a valid text file I suggest deleting the offending article. Hopefully someone can transcribe or scan the ins...

Re: What games do you enjoy playing on other 8bit computers

If strictly speaking about home-micros and no consoles, then Samurai Warrior – The Battles of Usagi Yojimbo is my favourite Commodore 64 game. Not an exclusive, but a vastly different experience when compared to the Spectrum version. The combat in the original c64 version is explosive, dynamic and p...

Re: High Score - retrogaming history series on Netflix

Interesting! Thanks for the insight guys! :)

I know the Master System did generally well in the UK, unfortunately some people seem to equate that with total domination of europe.

Re: High Score - retrogaming history series on Netflix

... Just that while the Nintendo Entertainment System was as common as, well, water, at the time, over here in Europe it barely made a ripple , even the Master System was more in use and that didn't worry the home computing scene. I keep hearing this over and over, mostly by UK residents, and it's ...

Re: Frumpy

Great! Though after a level is completed you might want to check that no keys (or joystick input) are being pressed before polling for retry/continue. If the player keeps holding left to complete the level (ex. on Don't You Open That Trap Door!) there's a risk that Retry is accidentally selected.
