Re: Spectrum memes

Welcome Van_Dammesque, I remember that name from WOS!

Yeah, that sinking feeling when you didn't make the first part of Army Moves, eh ...

Wanna introduce yourself to the crowd? You can do it in this thread.

Re: ZX-Blue Plaques?

I saw this thread and read it from the start. This reminded me of a topic I had on WOS, called Places of Speccy interest in Google Street View which fits well with this thread here. I'm sure some of you have seen it before but to those who haven't it might prove interesting. Back in November 2018 I ...

Re: 1980s / 1990s Computer with the best design and Potential

Yes, it is a standard mode 0 game with 16 colours, but what makes them impressive for you? I think there are tons of much better looking games in this mode. I for one was usually far more impressed by Mode 1 (320x200) games if they went for a good colour palette and high detail, resulting in games l...

No limits? Here's the rest then:

I think 18-20 appear in these screens:
Up on the battlements
We must perform a quirkafleeg
I'm sure I've seen this before

Re: MM/JSW Quiz

Since I can't look at a map and can't be bothered to play the game, I'll try some of the JSW ones from memory, though I may get the names wrong ... I used to play Jet Set Willy LOTS back in the day. 3 = On the roof (or w/e it's called) 6 = Under The Drive 11 = The Bow (I had more but when I wanted t...

Re: Here we go again .. and again ... and again ...

Do you know we have a German edition of Retro Gamer which mostly recycles articles from the English/UK version with a low amount of "homegrown" domestic articles in-between? Since the Speccy was so obscure over here, I've seen a lot of voices on a forum I'm visiting where people are complaining abou...

Re: New WoS and ZXDB

This post by Einar feels like a cliffhanger at the end of a season of a TV series (like the two-parters at the end of a Star Trek series) The ZX Files, S7E12 (Part 1 of 2), final lines of dialogue : "Okay, Einar has posted. What's going to happen now?" "Now we wait ..." (dramatic music as the camera...

I think there is wonderful. There is for the first time in my life when I have two separate pages in some magazine. :-D
Cheers pavero! Though I was a little surprised how you didn't publish even a single map in your Playing Tips section ;)

Re: An oldie

Looking forward to the port. It doesn't seem too taxing on the hardware so hopefully it runs at at least 25 fps? The refuelling tunnel looks a bit brutal in the original though what with it being extremely tight, I wonder if you make that a bit more forgiving? On the other hand that would make it le...
