Loading TR-DOS files through $3D13 and Brazilian interfaces

In this thread , I explained how I followed the Beta Disk user manual to load files from a TR-DOS image file disk in machine code. However, I always felt the process to be rather cumbersome and code intensive, and wished to employ direct calls to the $3D13 routine instead. After reading some documen...

Re: New game: SOPHIA II

Hi everyone, Sophia II was updated to version 1.01. What's new: All objects in the game glow (additional code by Allan Turvey). A bug of the random placement of the amulets in level 2 has been corrected; in some cases, an amulet could be found partially behind a rock. Some screens in level 2 have be...

Re: Learning English on the Speccy

The Spectrum definitely helped me learn English better, not only with games like text adventures, but also through the press, i.e. when, in May 1987, I casually found that a newsagents in the city center sold Sinclair User, which I bought until they did not sell it anymore because British computer m...

Terrific Ale! Well done.

This is easier than your other games, and all the better for it—it gives the player more chance to get into it.
Thanks Dave! However, there is a harder mode to choose - for a tougher challenge, more points, and a different ending!

Re: The year of the pig

Yes, I like Psycho Pigs UXB too. On the other hand, Piggy is an absolute waste of code. The main sprite doesn't even look like a pig at all! https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/SCRtoImage.php?SCR=pub/sinclair/screens/load/p/scr/Piggy_2.scr https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/pub/sinclair/screens/in-game/p/P...

Re: Coming soon: SOPHIA II

Looks terrific! I don't think I would have guessed Styxx if you hadn't said so. Thanks Dave! Yes, it's a noticeably enhanced remake  Due to this, I had to follow the structure of the original game, i.e.: first level - maze with a giant spider at the end second level - underwater (there was no ...

Re: The games that never got released

Last Ninja, Judge Death, Halo Jones, Star Trek (I enjoyed it a lot on the Atari ST) and of course Mire Mare spring into my mind first. By the way, in case you didn't it already you could also check the comprehensive page on the TZX Vault website about the "games that time forgot". The title you wro...
