Re: The best classic Speccy game beginning with R: vote

An exceptional amount of great games in this vote, it's almost impossible to choose just one. :)
Renegade is an obvious choice and a winning candidate, but I have to vote for one of my all-time favorites Robin of the Wood.
My second choice would be Renegade and then Roller Coaster.

Re: 16K software, run faster with Russian clones?

Thanks guys, now everything looks much more understandable. I was most interested in, how commercial 16K games behave in Russian models and how this acceleration affects them. For example, does it have a visible acceleration on aracade games like Ultimate Jet Pac, Cookie, Pssst or not? If I understa...

Re: The best classic Speccy game beginning with R: discussion

Roller Coaster. Not the best game ever, but it's a cute game with lots of hours of fun. I couldn't agree more. There are certain games that have some special charm, which is not easy to define. Roller Coaster is one of those games, unpretentious but very addictive. btw, the list of the best games b...

16K software, run faster with Russian clones?

A few years ago I read somewhere that Spectrum's original software runs faster in Russian clones because they dont use contended memory. I think it was said, that games for 16K Spectrum work up to 15% faster, while acceleration for 48K titles is much less because they dont use contended memory that ...

Re: Volk - not Czech game

Somehow I missed this topic, and I think a little clarification is needed. Most of the games from ex-Yugoslavia are published in official Serbian or Croatian (shorter Serbo-Croatian) languages that are very similar, but some are also translated into Slovenian, which is quite different. The "Vruće Lj...

Re: Game of the day...

Crime Busters by Players, inspired by Namco arcade game Mappy.
Very nice graphics and animation, I can recommend it. :)

Re: 3D Chess 2K18

I think you've done a great job so far and maybe it's time to start adding a decent (also a memory-efficient) chess engine.
I guess the optimization of board routines is possible later if you find more space for that.
