Re: NEW THEME! for the Spectrum Computing Forums

This new theme excellent, but my old eyes can't cope with the brightness. If I was 20 years younger I'd be all over it like a rash.

Re: How do I reset specific loading settings for a game?

Symbol shift and enter gives you the options menu. I guess reading the instructions that show up on first boot would have been useful after all :-)

How do I reset specific loading settings for a game?

Got my N-Go set up in my original 48k+ case and it is amazing. I told Moley Christmas to load in 48K mode and with simulated loading. Now I realise I should have set it to 128K mode for the music and not turned on the simulated loading (once was enough!!) How do I change those settings in the Browse...

My own kempston hack (coded without reference to the article you mentiond) I did a couple of years ago exhibits the exact same behaviour.

Re: ld bc,(hl)

I don't know about that sync thing and it freezes ZX Spin emulating a 48. For simiplicity, just replace with a halt sync: ;ld a,r ; padding instruction ;in a,(c) ;cp e ;jp nz,sync halt and for the illegal instruction problems: Edge_Loop: push bc ; preserve B for loop ld c,(hl) ; B = ypos1 C = xpos1 ...

N-Go at ActiveConsult

I'm in no way connected with Active Consult, but they have a couple of N-Go's available for ordering https://store.activeconsult.co.uk/shop/ols/products/n-go-board-bc011e75-2fb5-47bc-a8d4-0f52d7fcc731 I ordered one on Friday. No idea when it might arrive - May/June is a little vague, but no more vag...

Re: Cat took a slash on my 128K Toastrack

Thanks for the advice. I couldn't quite bring myself to dishwasher it but I've meticulously cleaned as much of it as I can and the smell has largely gone. Replaced the membrane with one from RWAP - superb replacement I have to say - and the machine works.... but AY is dead. The area around the AY ch...

Cat took a slash on my 128K Toastrack

Bit annoying. It must have happened month+ ago. The urine had mixed with dust and grime and cat hair and had congealed in there coating much of the keyboard and it got through to the motherboard. Case is all clean but needs a new membrane - not too concerned about that part. But I've tried to clean ...

Re: Pattern autoincrementing - or not?

What you're thinking is correct but you're code in the two snippets above are not actually doing the same thing. The pattern number (or memory address in pattern memory) is actually "N N N N N N N6" (times 128 for memory address) with N6 the least significant bit. Why is N6 the least sign...

Pattern autoincrementing - or not?

I was intending to wait until I have a Next in my grubby mits before attempting to code for it, but screw that if I have to wait another year! So I'm porting something from SAM Coupé as my first foray into it as all the game logic will stay the same amd I just need to rewrite some platform specific ...
