Reverted Alien Destroyer, Backgammon and Embassy Assault :D

Alien Destroyer is another good example of an incorrect gif. The capture is not aligned with the attribute cells:

Re: Broken screenshots

Fixed both Pedro games mentioned, and also PedroVStrasidelnomZamku (minor bright difference). (I'm marking fixed titles on this thread by liking each post :D ) Also spotted problems with Quadrax (fixed). In this case original gif is scaled - notice the smoothed pixels specially on the top platforms:...

Re: Philips Videopac G7000 / Magnavox Odyssey 2 Programmer

Here's a comparison of both palettes with TMS9918 on the left and Vic-II (C64) on the right. https://i.postimg.cc/KkKWjTDS/palettes.png C64 tones are ugly and it wastes a few palette entries on grays. That's because they simply ran through voltage combinations (look at the alternating Y,Pb,Pr column...

Re: Philips Videopac G7000 / Magnavox Odyssey 2 Programmer

Colors are very consistent with the SG-1000 emulator video. As expected the CRT has a slightly lower gamma (darker midtones), making colours a bit more intense. But overall it compares well.

I agree that this palette is very good. Better than C64 on my opinion.

Re: Philips Videopac G7000 / Magnavox Odyssey 2 Programmer

The exact colours are hard to reproduce for these chips. Composite palettes are hard to handle, specially if you think about NTSC machines. Pre 1990s NTSC had a wider colourspace but TVs had "correction" circuits in order to compensate (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTSC#SMPTE_C ) . Th...

That used the TMS9918 which was found in the MSX, TI99 and others. Used on ColecoVision, CreatiVision, Memotech MTX, MSX, SG-1000/SC-3000, Spectravideo, Sord M5, Tatung Einstein, Texas Instruments TI-99/4, Casio PV-2000 and Tomy Tutor. Re: Broken screenshots

I took care not to convert compilation gifs. Einar Saukas if I remember correctly I asked for a list of compilations and excluded a lot of titles based on that. But it seems some were missed... probably my mistake, don't remember if I used a specific ZXDB query for that... Doesn't...

Corrupted legacy gif. If you open it directly on Chrome, you get a 606x449 image!
Needs to be replaced with a proper scr capture. Will put it on my to-do list... :D

Re: Are there any good games exclusive to the Timex Sinclair 2068/2048?

Are you going to check each page from www.timexsinclair.com to see if there's a corresponding page at SC? Already added a few titles using the Preservation Tools. It's more efficient that way I think. We can quickly check for existing titles and authors and add other details like price. No promises...

Here's the Motorola 6847 palette and some simulations of the 128x192 graphic modes: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_8-bit_computer_hardware_graphics#TRS-80_Color_Computer But the Dragon 32 was capable of 256 x 192 monochrome graphics. What put me off before was sheer frustration. I learn things so incredibly slowly that it's easy to get very frustrated with myself and give up. Thanks for the help everyone, it's much appreciated! You need to set some goals first and then break them down to a series of realistic achievements. Othe...

Re: Question about Spectrum colours

As mentioned by the previous user, each color has two signals: » luminance » saturation & hue The system generates both values using a clever RGB bit arrangement. If you order the RGB bits according to the percentages mentioned on the previous posts (Green contributes more, Blue less) you get GR...
