I'd be interested. Depends on how things play out here, but hopeful I can join.

Re: New game: Castle of Dr Game

Trudge I’m afraid. Maybe I should have marked the doors or provided some other way to inform the player which order they are. Yeah, that's a real shame. Huge flaw in an otherwise really spiffy little game that's right in my sweet zone. 25% off. (And I don't actually see any merit/point in it. What ...

New game: Castle of Dr Game

The evil Dr Game has set out on a mission to steal all of the classic video games from the world, and keep them locked in his castle for only himself to enjoy. Every cabinet, every motherboard and every ROM has started to vanish from the world as he slowly gathers his collection together. Gamers are...

Starblitz and Fuller Sound

I'm looking for the version of Starblitz that supports the Fuller sound unit but it doesn't seem to be listed in the DB. The one in the DB (and Tosec) are just the standard versions. I have the real tape and one side states 'Sound', the other 'Fuller', so i'm not going senile ;-) Also the entry in t...

Re: Playing games on original Hardware vs. Emulation

I have had a few experiences where emulation doesn't get the random element right for a game, and thus the game is the same each time. For example (but not the game) in Jetpac the fuel would drop at the same point on the first play. This could be because of the use of Z80 files where any random good...

Re: Who still uses original hardware

As you can guess doing the show - I have a load of hardware and use it almost daily. Too much to list really - about 4 x 48k rubber keyed, 3 Plus models, a Plus 2, Plus 3 and toastrack.. I have a few in different keyboards etc.. love using them all. I do have days off from time to time.. but at the ...

Re: The Spectrum Show Episode 98

I'm surprised you couldn't get it to work with any games. I recall Invasion of the Body Snatchers worked with it quite happily. Nothing else though. I thought that worked with the Fuller Sound unit - it was advertised for that. I didn't try every game, but maybe should have tested the ones f...

The game on the cover of the Sixty Programs is Firebirds from Softek. A nice little shooter, but definitely not in the book!

Toofy's Nutty Nightmare

An old/new game folks... This game was going to be a Vega+ exclusive.. and we know how that ended up. Read the details on my web site for more info. I recently dug it out of my hard drive and tweaked it a bit. Don't expect greatness here - it was designed for a small screen with simple controls. Dow...

Re: Homebrew authors vs Walkthroughs

I am one of the authors who agrees with this proposal. To address a point made earlier though, If I want to see if I would like a game, a walkthrough without review or comment is useless to me. I want to know the story, the control options, how the game 'feels', what things could be improved, which ...

I'm a little late to the 'party', but have to say I agree fully with highrise and Alessandro. I spend a lot of time 'giving' to the community and none of my work is monetised (apart from a tiny fraction via Patreon which is voluntary - unlike adverts on youtube). My games that are sold, all funds go...
