Re: ZXBaremulator 3.2

The PS4 and XBox One drivers was written by myself, but the XBox 360 driver was written by Rene, the Circle library author because I don't own a Xbox 360 gamepad. Could be that Rene was using a Xbx360 clone, I can't remember very well. Probably a good option would be a Mayflash Magic NS USB adapter,...

Re: Playing games on original Hardware vs. Emulation

In a double-blind test, few people can say what's the FPGA-emulation and what's the emulator. Except by the less known fact that doesn't exist a FPGA implementation so accurate as a good emulator. Could be that, in a future (near?) somebody publish an accurate FPGA core, but today doesn't exist. ZX...

Re: "Real" aspect ratio?

According to Chris Smith’s The ZX Spectrum ULA , the Spectrum’s pixels are perfectly square. I guess that isn't possible. Chris explains that a timing difference between logic gates produces a non-equal pixel when the ULA do a transition from 0 to 1 and 1 to 0. The Woody's demo Brightminer shows an...

It's not the TV, as I get sound through HDMI using Retropie, with no problems.
ZXBaremulator uses a non-usual sample rate for audio, 32 khz. I guess that some TVs have problems with it.

Re: ZXBaremulator 3.2

The PI firmware chooses the sound output automatically. When you have a HDMI device connected, the sound is sended to it. When no HDMI device is found, the sound is sended to PWM.

Are you tried with another TV set?

Re: ZXBaremulator 3.2

If anyone here uses a Speedlink Competition Pro with zxbaremulator. Does anyone know if you can map the buttons? For me it defaults to the small trianle buttons instead of the big round clicky ones. Great emulator btw. When I remember correctly, this joystick claims to be compatible with DirectInpu...

An hour ago, I've seen an "out of memory" error. A server reboot is the only one option when server runs Windows. But, if you're using Linux is the worst option on the long run.

Re: ZXBaremulator 3.2

Today I continued testing BM 3.2 and found some rough solution how to avoid (mostly) that buzzing sound. I noticed that after each reset with CTRL + Break, the buzzing stops and then I can enter the menu with F1, select the game and go back to the emulator, without that sound issue. It’s not too el...

Re: ZXBaremulator 3.2

The problem with the buzzing sound is that I can't reproduce it on my TVs. Could be that some TVs aren't happy with the 32 kHz sampling rate I use. The ZX-Uno is dead. I own one, sleeping in his box. Nobody develops cores for it. Now, you can choose a MiSTer, Mistica or SiDi. But don't exist a FPGA...

Re: ZXBaremulator 3.2

The ZX-Uno's Spectrum 48k core is basically correct, but the contended memory timings is wrong on all cores, all FPGA's I know. The 128k core isn't complete and the FPGA PLL can't generate the needed CPU freq. for the model (is off by 8 kHz). The +2a is the same core than 128k with the +2a ROMS. Ho...

Re: ZXBaremulator 3.2

I would just like to get rid of this buzzing sound, which we talked about earlier. I don't know if you had time to investigate it, I just have this problem on each of my 3 pi models (2, 3, 3+) and I haven't been able to eliminate it, except using the old v2.0 version, which doesn't have a GPIO keyb...

Re: ZXBaremulator 3.2

I think the PI2 is the best option. It does have sound over HDMI and it's more than capable of running the emulator at full speed. A pi3/3B etc. is a bit overkill for just a spectrum. The only one advantage from a better PI is a faster "fast loading". The HDMI sound support needs more CPU...

The ulatest3 by Jan Bobrowsky, modified by Chris Smith. You can get it from here: http://dlcorp.nedopc.com/download/file.php?id=2735&sid=5b4a53ae80782de504f569910926db5b looks like this one needs strict 48k emulation, not even the 128k in 48k mode The first ulatest3 was for 48k only. Probably, ...

Re: ZXBaremulator 3.2

I'm interested to know if it's possible. You can edit the config.txt on the ZXBME Sd card.. use hdmi_mode=6 If you are on hdmi_group=1 , mode 6 is a 480i (4:3) mode. You may find the stretch on your TV will work properly then. More info of HDMI modes here : https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation...
