I will have them somewhere and more besides that were never quite finished.
If the stuff I uploaded can’t be found then I’ll see if I can locate them.

Re: ChesSkelet: micro chess program - 363 Bytes
Unfortunately I’d mapped white on white ATTRs over the code so it couldn’t be seen, that could be removed. It was just a proof of concept really, as the code needed to be refactored a lot to fit where there was space around the board. Lots of jr xx instructions added.

Re: ChesSkelet: micro chess program - 363 Bytes
I suppose you could put code in the screen memory as most of the screen is unused, therefore not using any more actual ram :) lol I did exactly that in an experimental version of c2k19. I’ll see if I can find it, though I think it’s probably here on an old thread. It ran from the screen with ATTRs ...

Re: Chesskelet revamped - 269 bytes
The idea in fact was to pair my 3D display engine with something Chesskelet-esque in an attempt to make a 3D chess in under 1k. It’s definitely possible.

Re: Chesskelet revamped - 269 bytes
Well, on and off. I have a simple gui and move legality checking plus sone other logic implemented. There is currently no method of playing a computer opponent though. Still all under 800 bytes I think.

We corresponded before Covid was a thing regarding its development as I was still further developing 3D Chess.
I’ll see if I can find an email for him.

Re: Going to ZX Spectrum events back in the day
The Microfair was brilliant! I remember going with my dad many times. He even met a guy who worked for Saga systems that he’d worked with back in the 70s. He asked him if he could copy The Last Word that a friend had just bought. Cheeky! The Horticultural Halls was a great venue. I met Christian Urq...

Re: How to get data off MGT +D disks
Try SAMdisk. It allows a PC to make readable images of disks in all sorts of formats. You can then read them in any emulator that allows +D virtually.
I have images somewhere of all my old disks from the +D

It’s usually possible to extract the main code blocks from.TRD files. I’ve done it before a while back. ZX Block Editor might be able to help

Try speccy4ever.com. They’re usually quite good.

A faulty M1 line on the Z80 won’t be an issue as I don’t think the if1bis uses it.

No problem at all. It’s good to print off and have a doodle. With the original pad that’s how I created loads of stuff I’ve still got hanging around on mgt +D disks. I used to photocopy the sheet, then use it again in the copier to get a pixelated version of images, mainly solid objects or logos.

32 bytes sounds fun! The board Data layout I’m using takes I think 36 bytes, though I’ll have to check, as it’s been a while.

Re: Chesskelet revamped - 269 bytes
3D Chess 2k19 got down to 497 bytes as a pure display engine alone. I made good progress in logic to the point that it checked legal moves etc, but there was no code to play moves on behalf of the computer. I think it grew to about 700 bytes approx. I will pick it up again when time allows though…pr...

Oh my word Alex! I thought the project had gone very quiet. We talked before lockdown. Then life happened in between. Amazing achievement. I’m reading through the asm with great interest!!
