I think the 16-bit sprites show what it was supposed to look like, but I think the Spectrum one is the most iconic. Probably why they reverted to it for Spellbound Dizzy (also probably saved on effort redrawing all the animations).

It would be more like checking flags in z80 and c64 but in a unified way.
