Re: how the microdrive format works

I bit of information about the microdrive format (I'm sorry by the crosslink): https://worldofspectrum.org/forums/discussion/comment/587497/ Only a few emulators do an accurate microdrive emulation, generally they do a simulation really, so they can't emulate the capacity changes between IF1 ROM ver...

I'm sorry by the external reference but... https://www.worldofspectrum.org/forums/discussion/55858/new-colour-palette-for-16k-48k-machines-based-on-ula-yuv-voltages OK, so none of these are using that palette. Re: Emulator Comparison Spreadsheet

In a very abstract sense, you're right. The problem is that installing Java still sticks a whole bunch of stuff on your machine like Java Web Start and various browser plugins etc that are all gaping security holes ripe for exploitation. Or at least that was still the case last time I had to instal...

Re: Z80 Block Flags Test for the "recently" discovered behavior of the block instructions of the Z80 CPU

I've updated JSpeccy to implement the new Z80 "features", HALT & LDxR et al.

I've put a test version on my DropBox: https://www.dropbox.com/s/l9imcrgejwahr ... y.jar?dl=0 (Java 11 as minimum)

Re: Strange inaccuracy in some emulators

I've updated JSpeccy to v0.94 (first time from 2015) to correct the SIL4 demo. Additionally, includes support for the ZX Recreated keyboard. The updated sources are in my GitHub account ( JSpeccy ). By now, I'm don't publish a compiled JAR. Personally, I would have preferred to see this fix on Bare...

Re: Spectrumpedia revised and extended edition. Suggestions about possible new content

In "Non-Spectrum specific hardware emulation" section you can add ZXBaremulator, http://zxmini.speccy.org

And in "Hardware systems - clones" you can add MiST/Mistica, SiDi and MiSTer, IMHO.

Re: ZXBaremulator 3.2

I don't know these keyboard, I'm sorry. The emulator maintains in memory the three models at once, but only the model on screen is running, the two others are paused. That´s ok. No worries. Any Idea why ALT-R would not work, if it´s just a normal keyboard besides the missing key? The 3 emus at the ...

Re: ZXBaremulator 3.2

You can reset the emulation pressing CTRL+Pause. Some reduced keyboards don't have the Pause key, that's true. For the PI 3 version, I've added two key combinations, Alt+P to pause and Alt+R to reset. But I haven't compiled the these version for Pi-2/1. When you have a micro-SD with Linux, you can ...

Re: Can you run CP/M on a Speccy?

Is it possible with a microdrive? I have a 48K and a Plus 2B and I have a working microdrive. It should be possible on a +3, but I don't have one. I would love to try CP/M. On a 48k with the LEC Memory Extension is possible to run his own CP/M v2.2 version using up to 8 microdrives in a 48k model. ...

Re: 48k case insert/caddy for ZXBaremulator

Really nice, @TomD, I'd like to ask some things: (1) Why those diodes only in one PCB for the ribbon, and not in both? Is it for avoiding blocking or ghosting keys? (2) What about the keyboard delay. I tried once to play MAME games in a RPi 3B and it was impossible, 1 or 2 tenths of seconds... I ga...

Re: Pricing up the MiSTER

An alternate option to 32MB & 128MB modules is to buy a 32MB SDRAM + 2MB SRAM module, that allow to use a future ZX Next core. When you don't want to run the bigger NeoGeo games, is a better option than 128MB module, IMHO.

finally the question !
should I decode 0xDD 0x76 / 0xFD 0x76 as halt or as ld (hl), (ix + disp) / ld (hl), (iy + disp) ?

I dont have any real z80 based hardware to check this on and was wondering if anyone knows the answer to this problem ?
thanks
As HALT, the DD/FD prefix is ignored.
