Re: At Dev's Door (Jon Ritman): discussion
I think Jon Ritman did the loading screens for sure but no idea how much input he had with the actual creation of the games.

Absolute madness!
But, y’know, if someone was willing to pay that then that’s up to them really.

Ok, since you'e asking. As a tool-maker, you are not concerned with what a tool-user needs or wants to do. But I am! I asked why you would need these searches? That wasn't to be antagonistic, that's something a good BA should do when getting the requirements. You certainly don't just accept everythi...

Re: Complete Spectrum - partwork
Indeed the GUi isn't great, I agree with you and I'm certainly not arguing for the 2000s Windows interface!, but it does make it possible to ask questions like "which French-language games were produced later than 1986?" -- which I can't ask right now. GUI is just icing on the cake. What ...

Hah sorry I was replying to @equinox and his search idea. Personally, I think the Spectrum Computing search is just fine!
That was supposed to read “You want to search Spanish language and platformers?” Again that was based on @equinox’s search example that led to his search idea.

Re: Complete Spectrum - partwork
Since I spouted my mouth off: here's a search dialogue from equinox's own application (used in an obscure library somewhere). "Title contains 'spectrum' and ISBN doesn't start with 3" -- a very stupid search -- but very, very powerful. Think this way. https://i.postimg.cc/y38nRfsZ/x.png M...

Re: Hypothetically... The Empire Strikes Back on the Spectrum
Rather than the Exogorth firing fireballs, why not have it firing Mynocks? I’m not sure if they can survive in space, but it makes more sense than fireballs. As for the Bespin City backgrounds, it’s one if the few things from the remastered special editions that I reckon are fine. It’s probably one ...

The Legend of Kage https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/2848/ZX-Spectrum/Legend_of_Kage Has Simon Butoer as a Creator/Author/Contibutor but see this Twitter exchange from yesterday https://twitter.com/tltwg/status/1669826597015126016?s=46&t=77JBwU7aO5lqCh-YeuqfIQ He seems to have nothing to do ...

Re: Entry screen layout issue
Without knowing to much what's going on in the background, changing the class of the wrapping div to be col-sm-4 rather than col-sm-3 does fix the issue for Peter Beardsley, at least, but not sure how it'll affect other entries. Edit: Just checked the International Match Day entries and changed the ...

Entry screen layout issue
Looks like the text isn't being contained within the bounding area in the Additional File Downloads section. Obvs an issue due to there being no spaces within the name of the file. Same issue in mobile view, too. See, International Match Day - https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/2514/ZX-Spectrum/I...

Re: Clebin's projects for 2023
A Spectrum version of Advance Wars had been on my list of projects to work on at some point for well over a decade now, but I’m glad to see someone has got around to doing it! Looking forward to trying it out as the original Advance Wars is one of my favourites and I hate turn based strategy games! ...

Re: Magazines
Yip, that’d be my preferred option, too. Easiest, less hassle, doesn’t affect the current model and if you do need those reports, hardly the most difficult either.
Re: Magazines
OK, I was having some further thoughts about this as a continuation from above. Since I don't have all the data, I'm guessing that a magazine having multiple publishers is the exception rather than the rule. If that's the case, then in my first option, having LABEL_ID on the magazine issues table is...
Re: Magazines
Yip, i'd follow @Andyc suggestion. I can think of a couple of ways to do it, 1 better than the other and, note, I've not looked at the ZXDB DB. Assuming there may be a detail table hanging off of the magazines table listing each issue for each publication, then simply adding the LABEL_ID to this det...
