Re: Sam Mallard – El Caso del Cisne Desaparecido
Sam Mallard is now available on physical media again. This is a combo edition, published by Matra Computer Automation. It contains the English version on Side A and the Spanish version on Side B with instructions in both languages. You can find the store page here . https://i.imgur.com/L7Kckm2.jpg

Re: Run!
To me, the AY music doesn't quite fit the backstory and the action, but other than that it's great. Nothing wrong with the graphics here.

Re: Need some CRT TV tech assistance.
Oh, I'd take the blue columns over the interference any day. It may not look so bad in the photos, but it was distracting as all hell. The whole left side of the screen was a slightly lighter black (grey) as well, kind of looked like the TV was dying to be honest. I have a local technician that stil...

Re: Need some CRT TV tech assistance.
akeley's post gave me some courage to experiment with the service-mode. First I tried to eliminate the right light-blue column by shifting the image right, even when I managed to hide it, the "interference" was still present. Then I tried to adjust the horizontal width and that didn't help...

Re: Need some CRT TV tech assistance.
I grabbed the same screen in an emulator and made a quick illustration of the problem in photoshop. The picture on top is how some screens look, no light blue column on the right and a nice image. The bottom picture shows the problem. Screens that have that light column on the right produces a light...

Need some CRT TV tech assistance.
I have a Panasonic TX-28CK1F CRT TV that I bought new back in 2003 or thereabout. It's a great set that supports PAL 50/60hz, SECAM, NTSC and it has served me well over the years. I started up Ripple Island yesterday on my NTSC AV modified Famicom and got some strange visual rainbow artifacts on the...

Re: Licenses outside of coin-ops and movies
Samurai Warrior – The Battles of Usagi Yojimbo is based on a Stan Sakai's comic and The Rats is based on James Herbert's novel. How about Blade Runner ? It's supposedly an "interpretation" on the Vangelis film score rather than the movie. Death Star interceptor pulled something similar an...

Re: Button mashers
Don't know if this counts since it's not a primary game mechanic... In Barbarian II if you come short with your jump over a pit you start to teeter on the edge requiring you to mash (or wiggle the joystick) left/right rapidly to recover.

Re: Announcing our new scoring system
There seem to be something wrong with the vote count on the rating page. For an example; Skool Daze lists 60 votes when in reality it's got 10. Doesn't seem to affect every entry though.

Re: Announcing our new scoring system
Once there are a reasonable number of votes entered we will add additional reports. I have a little concern regarding publishing individual users votes without permission. It's of course possible though and I'm sure we can come to a consensus in the future. All the data is stored. For now please co...

Great job to everyone involved!
Can't find my nor anyone else's vote overview. Since the idea is based on Lemon64's system I'm guessing it's there somewhere, maybe I'm missing something?

Re: Pregnancy Test Doom
In today's 'Weird devices to play Doom' episode: Pregnancy test. It's cheating a bit though. ;) You might be wondering, how the hell is this even possible on an extremely simple gadget such as a pregnancy tester? Well...it isn't. Foone is cheating a little; he had to replace the pregnancy tester's ...

Thanks, good to know! If using a modern interface one could always double check with the manufacturer, like you said.
