Ta for the quiz Greencard. Yet again, I thought an answer might be Hudson Hawk, and it wasn't.
I would never have got 'A'. Those serifs have no business being in a pinball game, however advanced.

Re: The best Speccy game by Exxos: vote
I played Captain Blood for ages on the Amiga bitd, not making much progress but enjoying the journey of finding aliens and talking to them. Taking mouse control into account, the Speccy version plays about as well as the 16bits, and the graphics are mostly good enough. While playing the Speccy versi...

I didn't know that was their original address (I know the area very well as it's my hometown - can confirm there is, and was, bog all to do) This is your moment to put your home town on the map Lee - buy up the property and set up THE KEMPSTON EXPERIENCE . Glass cabinets as far as the eye can see o...

Re: Spectrum memes
Looks like my export-to-8-bit-PNG settings flubbed the non-BRIGHT yellow as well, d'oh! I missed that! We have a new name for nefarious speccy pixel manipulation: verb: to orange. noun: orangery He's been found guilty of first degree orangery. "Browning" works too, but that's probably alr...

It's flawless, other than the BRIGHT and non-BRIGHT in the same character squares at the start of row 13. They always make one little mistake inspector...

Re: C5 cautionary tale
the "cautionary tales" series. I've been listening to this excellent series on BBC Sounds and this one isn't there, so ta for the heads-up. I'm nitpicking, but I wish they used a recognisable ZX-Spectum beep instead of the generic computer bleep (at least I think that's what it is). To be...

Re: Dieta, a uMIA title from Rebit (Italy)
Recently a title called Dieta was sold, it does not appear to be in the database: https://www.todocoleccion.net/videojuegos-consola-spectrum/sinclair-zx-spectrum-48k-dieta~x464621372 Is there a chance it's a re-release of one of these? https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/24438/ZX-Spectrum/Dieta h...

Re: A request for new tags
Could you please explain how you manage to do that without the knowledge of the game details? I couldn't, but it's not a question that I would ask. I think it's a bit too much detail with too many grey areas to expect of the tags. There is always the 'thin end of the wedge' to consider with the tag...

Easier and IMO more useful. Personally I'd want to see all bosses more often than subdivisions. Any further detail could be filtered through other parameters like genre.

It's quality. I discovered it via Pete's homebrew poll. and would certainly like to see it translated (Ed - then why not pull your finger out and do it yourself Dave?!).

Re: Game of the day...
The runaway success of The Wonka Experience 's marketing campaign brought the official speccy game of Charlie & the Chocolate Factory to mind. I've been playing the B-side platform(side A is minigames) and it's got something. It's proper oldschool and a clunky engine, but quite addictive if only...

1 - Commando 2 - Marauder 3 - Gilligan's Gold I feel like I'm being a bit vanilla in my genre choices here, but these are the ones I enjoyed the most. Gilligan's Gold has its flaws and could have been so much better*, so Afterburner or Space Harrier nearly bumped it off, but the amount of time I cho...
