Re: Which games use teleporting ?
As stated in Fred's instructions the mummies don't die, they teleport when hit or trapped. Yes it's not the main character who teleports, I think it's one of a kind. Anyway I can confirm it: it happened that mummies kept falling in a hole, disappeared then reappeared on a higher platform, hitting m...

Re: Bandersnatch hardware
Oh, that's an interesting though! and yeah, I DO think the presence of the interface in the video is more than casual, specially because the prototype is connected to the interface pass-through, and Gibson is using the Fuller joystick interface to demo the prototype software. Looks like product plac...

Re: Credits for Karnov, additional
In that case is John Boy and John May the same person? Hard to decipher font or nickname? I think might be, but can be difficult to determine which one is the correct name. In the ZXDB we have a lot of Mr Micro titles with John MAY credited: https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/list?label_id=7312 But in...

Hi, I did not. But he is also mentioned in the Amstrad version as:
Program: John WHITE assisted by John MAY and Gary PATCHEN, so, probably MAY was part of the development team and he was involved in the game.

Re: Thrust 2 loading
The downside and a sort of anti-cheat feature is that the blocks still have a pilot signal between them. In the original media, this signal is very short and without any pauses, so, it increases the load time a bit, but not much. If you try to pirate the game using a copy software, that pilot signal...

Re: HiSoft C programmers?
This is a sincere question: Has anyone done any serious programming of any sort with HiSoft C? I worked with the compiler back in the day, trying to achieve something semi-serious for my dad's work, that required some data input/output and some charts, but quickly realized that Basic was good enoug...

Hi @Slider sorry to wake up the thread, who's the author of the title screen? I'm doing a small calendar featuring this year's artwork, and I like to do proper attribution if I can. Thanks!

Re: Killer Kong screenshot
Oh, this worth a note in the game entry. Based on the inlays, it seems that here are indeed two Blaby Computer Games releases. Release #1 has no title screen and the old kong graphic, and it is preserved as the tape image #3 Release #2 has a title screen and a better kong graphic, and it is preserve...

Re: J. S. Compilation Spectrum #1 (uMIA)
Having noticed rest of entries related with this software magazine in Spectrum Computing, I'd like to know if this fourth issue has the right date (Sept. 1985 or October 1985), just because the contents of this TZX are quite the same to mentioned ones at its corresponding booklet in Internet Archiv...

I'm indicating teleport/hyperspace in the list, so, we can go back and create two tags if necessary.Einar Saukas wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 10:35 pm Also I think we should have a different tag for hyperspace.

Re: Which games use teleporting ?
Yeah, now that we have hyperspace in the group, I think we can add The Sentinel, because besides the discussion, the feature feels like some kind of teleportation, specially at the end of the level. I'm pretty sure if we leave the title out of the list, this discussion is going to popup gain.

Re: Which games use teleporting ?
Oh yeah! Soldier of Fortune is a good catch, looks like magic teleportation.
OLLI and LISSA I'm not sure, I understand the game behaves like teleportation, but technically the player is just entering a door.

Re: Which games use teleporting ?
Hi. I'm start adding games that has some kind of hyperspace, too se if makes sense to have a teleport/hypetspace group, since there concept is similar and there are games like Asteroids that have a hyperspsce feature that works more like teleport. I added a "frature" column, so we can sort...

Re: Which games use teleporting ?
As for Nightmare Rally: https://yewtu.be/embed/_oZRo_AbC_g?t=1045 (ok could be a time warp also... dunno... seem teleportish to me) I see, I think we can call that teleportation, thanks for the clarification. For Cap'n Blood the player isn't teleporting, s/he uses a fleshy space drone (eh) as an av...

Re: Which games use teleporting ?
AFAIK there's no teleportation in The Sentinel. You "move" around by switching control from one existing robot body to another. That's not teleportation. Oh, I was under the impression the hyperspace was something similar to a teleportation, but reading the instructions, the hyperspace *c...

What I can see is that the dupla May/White is credited on several games, all adaptations from arcades and US titles, so they really look legit. I still need to check those titles for confirmation.

Ace! Thanks for this. I'm going to take a look at John May, sometimes other systems authors are credited and sometimes there is a genuine error.
