I'd love to say it was hours of skillful research but this is what I saw when I opened up google maps to Burtonport:

Re: The Hobbit 128 unfinished?

There was a pretty clear (to me, as a contributor) implied understanding that Einar was making this upgrade and that my contribution would be used by Einar in his upgrade. I never even heard about the release, or the people releasing it, so there was no agreement/understanding there. I think it's pr...

Re: The Hobbit 128 unfinished?

It's probably a bad idea to wade in here, but my thought as someone who contributed one ropey image are that this shouldn't have been released without at least Einar's blessing (and it would have been nice to ask the contributors too). It was Einar's concept and he organized getting the images toget...

You never know, that could be Marian!
Since the maps are random, maybe next time castle 9 will be solvable...
But I've had fun getting here.

I agree - it's not the same art style at all, and he generally signed his name HAIRE'8X.
The R in the HAIRE signature doesn't match the R in the airbrushed plane image either.

Probably not. I tried to add enough mechanics to make it likely solvable, and I've gotten to level 5-6 many times during testing without being blocked. But it's random, so there's always a chance.

Just played: score 28/36. (I wrote it less than a week ago, and needed hints for most of the anagrams...) Spectriv 17 also had an 'Answer Smash' type round, and that was released in 2014, three years before House of Games first aired. (It was 'borrowed' from NPR's Ask Me Another. (I had to look up t...

Re: My reverse engineering tool

Vector graphics games are no easier to guess the framerate of. You don't know when one frame ends and another starts. You might be able to use some heuristics to guess where the main loop was and check how frequently that was executed, but most likely you'd have to have the user identify the main lo...

Enjoyed the Da Vinci game a lot! Thanks. (A real adventure with the same story would have been terrific.) And loving these reviews! Also enjoyed ZX-Mindbender, although I only got 2/26 (and not M). It felt like a companion game to my https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/34695/ZX-Spectrum/Clives_Rea...
