Hi @8BitSC,
I tried to create a working TAP file myself but was unable to make it.
To my experience, it is better to save a SNA snapshot file under your favorite emulator upon loading and use that instead. Sorry (for that and for the late reply as well).

Re: Pasmo 0.5.5
Yes, I also noticed that lately. If Julian cannot provide a final executable, the best you can do is to download libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll and libstdc++-6.dll from an external source and place them in the executable's directory, or in a directory placed under the PATH system variable. By the way, sorry for...

The files do exist, you can download them from the official web page at https://zanklesoft.itch.io/apulija-13
They should be added to the archive then.
P.S. Sorry for the late reply

Re: DIVMMC Enjoy Pro support Bob Fossil's long filename browser?
I have an earlier model of the EnJoy, the one with the four jumpers on the side, and it supports Bob Fossil's browser, with the BIN and SYS folders taken from the "No_MMC_Memory" set as the interface has no such feature.
Therefore I think the newer model should support it as well.

Re: How long have you been part of the Speccy Retro Scene?
In the summer of 1998 I discovered that there were programs that could emulate the working of a Spectrum on a PC. And this was not the first taste of emulation I experienced; I began with MAME about two years earlier. At the same time I subscribed to WoS, then before the great system crash of 2001 w...

Sorry I meant "upgrade" not "update". Just for clarity.Alessandro wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 2:02 pm N.B. I assume that, as for the other thread, "update" is meant as irony and not in the literal meaning.

Re: Why did you NOT upgrade to a C64 in the 80s?
Would it be fair to say that the Speccy was more user-friendly and accessible? I was into writing Basic programs pretty much from day-1 on my Speccy, but for the breif time I had a C64, I don't remember even thinking about it. More than fair if you ask me! One of the funniest recollections of my ea...

Sorry Ale I haven't just invented a new asm instuction! I mean 'loaded'. I haven't checked out the sprite draw routine, but it's clearly not using OR, XOR or masking. It seems to print sprites directly one on top of another by using some sort of priority; check the playing character's sprite in par...

N.B. I assume that, as for the other thread, "update" is meant as irony and not in the literal meaning. When I was gifted my 48K in June 1984, the Spectrum was the most popular 8-bit computer in Italy. Software, magazines and books for it were easy to find and, like in other countries, the...

Re: B.C. Bill by Imagine, what a great game!
It was fun for a while, but after 10 minutes you had seen all there was to see and it became very repetitive. Not bad for its time though! I'm sure the woke generation would have a field day with this game :D Well at least it was not an epithome of bad taste like that Custer "game" on the ...

Re: Why did you NOT upgrade to a CPC in the 80s?
Pizza with pineapple is considered blasphemy here. I had the misfortune of experiencing it myself at a self-service eatery in Finland. I mistook the little yellow bits for potatoes. I can say it was one of the most disgusting things I ate during my travels abroad, second only to marmite (the horror,...

Re: decolourizing games
The colour clash like it is shown in the Wally Week series is just horrible. A good amount of Spanish games suffer from this, too. I find it much less offensive when the sprites take on the colours of the background instead. Again, I was never bothered that much by it back in the day, and continue ...

Italy as well, although they were very rare, coming well behind the C64, Spectrum and MSX.
Software for them was harder to find than the philosopher's stone here.

Not for me. Especially games like Cybernoid which manage to keep colour clash at a minimum.
Mind you, colour clash has never bothered me that much.

You must associate an emulator with the file format you wish to open first. For example: click on the first icon on the left and choose to create a simple TAP file. Select "no loader" (default) and click on "OK", then in the following window, enter a program name in the box on th...

You can run Taper in DOSBox, but in native Windows it won't have run since... Windows 98, most likely. Sergey Gordeev created a new version of Taper that will run under later Windows version. Download it at: http://sg-software.ru/taper/ (click on the black button with "Скачать Taper 3.1" ...

Re: The Ice Temple menu screen music
Thank you R-Tape :D I suspected it was a traditional tune in fact. Meanwhile, I found the version I most probably heard first. It was in Angelo Branduardi's musical score for State buoni se potete, a 1983 film by Luigi Magni broadcast on TV by RAI the following year. Which is actually earlier than 1...

Chords and rhythm of the first few bars sound vaguely similar. However I surely did not hear it there, I played the Monkey Island series up to the third chapter.

The Ice Temple menu screen music
Lately I was wondering about the tune playing in the menu screen of The Ice Temple. I think I heard it somewhere else, not a long time ago, certainly not back in the day.
Does anyone know its title? Or is it an original composition?
