Re: Friday Quiz: Cars
I put waaaaay too much effort into finding this, I must say ;) It looked like a graphic from around 1990 give or take a year but it was really between 89 or 90 in my head. I then had a good think at what games had that that top down 3/4 view so I had a look at Midnight Resistance, Cabal, Shadow Warr...

Simon Butler had nothing to do with Dan Dare II. He was involved with the 3rd game, just not the 2nd.

Re: The Speccy Arcade 100
Probe Software was a culprit. Obvs you had Mr Heli, throw in their Italia 90, Out Run Europa, the Turrican loading screen and Golden Axe. Like they had some sort of in-house tool to convert the graphics from another machine to the Spectrum and then tidy them up…but tidying them up came down to timin...

Re: Question about the fragility of tape
A few years ago when I was testing the tapes in my collection, I found that cassettes by Elite and Domark seemed to be of the poorest quality. They had the highest fail rate. That’s all a remember, though. I’m sure there could be more research into this but.

Re: Atic-Atac Isometric Version
Thanks Ralf! Yip, the demo we released last year is pretty much Atic Atac, with a couple of bits missing due to various reasons, and probably the version we originally set out to do before we decided to alter it ever so slightly. The final version has Sir Stamperlot doing a similar story with Atic A...

https://i.postimg.cc/qgK1sxzM/money.png It’s free man! Keep your money! Is this release date for the standard Spectrum version, too ? No, just the PC version. You’ll still have a bit to wait for the Spectrum version and only Bob can truly answer that. This really is shaping up to be one of the best...

Re: Tape variants for collectors
Just off the top of my head, a couple of the Codemasters releases have ever so slightly variations on their inlays, mainly inclusion/exclusion/change of a catalogue number or a couple of extra things on the inlay itself. A more obvious example is Zombie Zombie which has 2 versions of the it’s inlay,...
