Re: Copies for yourself, local hackers ?

I read about The Barras market in Glasgow, which apparently was a go-to place for dodgy soft: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=96302&highlight=barras That was a great trip down memory lane, thanks for that link! I used to go to the Barras pretty much every weekend to get my games. in the l...

Re: Run!

Current run sequence uses 4 frames but I found few memory bytes, so we can have 5 :-) http://cikryt.cz/wp-content/uploads/run-animation.gif http://cikryt.cz/wp-content/uploads/run-animation.gif I just noticed that my crude version could fit in 24x24 just by moving the head down 1 pixel in frames 1 ...

Re: Run!

The thing that stands out to me is that for a title titled "Run", the running character looks a bit stiff and upright. I've no idea how many frames you've got to play with but here's a quick and dirty 5 frame stick man animation template (that would really need a bit more work, tbh, especi...

Re: Little bugs in the database 4

Codemasters seem to be listed as Code Masters when they’ve always been called “Codemasters”. Even in their own website, they’re listed as Codemasters and the wiki from wiki link within Spectrum Computing only ever lists them as “Codemasters”. The only reason I can see why it’s listed as “Code Master...

@redballoon I remember you posting a .gif of your obobo ( so to speak ) some years back. Did you ever do a green version? Presumably inverted pixels? I don’t think I did! I think I may have tried a quick version by inverting the pixels inside the outline leaving the eyes as they were but I wasn’t h...

Re: SQL for dummies

I’m not sure what flavour of SQL you’ll be using but I’d probably write the following query select e.* from entries e ,releases r where r.entry_id = e.id and r.release_year = 2010 and e.genretype_id in (5,6) That’s just doing an inner join between the 2 tables and probably have better performance.

Wait, so ID in the ENTRIES table = ENTRY_ID in the RELEASES table?

Re: Licenses outside of coin-ops and movies

You're not into Red Dwarf? I can only assume you've not seen any of it from the first 7 series. That’s pretty much it. I tried a couple of the “new ones” over the years and never found them funny at all. Though I have heard the latest series was good, but I’ve moved on from it. It’s just no longer ...

Glad you’re enjoying it, Peter! We’ve had such good feedback it’s been aces! Richard is currently looking at getting it on iOS and maybe, just maybe, there’s a small chance it could be making its way to the Nintendo Switch.

Double jewel case all the way. They took the single cassette and added to it. They’re perfect for storage, large enough to show off the beautiful inlay art, they feel right even with 2 cassettes in them - they’ve got such a right feel, y’know? - and they sound right when stacking ot storing together...

If there will be colour version for ATM-Turbo 2/ZX Evo/Pentagon 2.666LE, it will certainly take the 1st prize at the Your Game 6. Do the authors know? Sadly, I’m afraid not. We’re just trying to get the PC version finished first. As Sokurah’s already mentioned, we’re not handling the Next and 128K ...

Printing standard UDGs to screen

Hello

How easy is it to print out the standard Spectrum UDGs in BASIC?
Image

It'd display a picture, say a logo, made up of the the UDGs (on the bottom line, above) and using DATA commands to control the UDGs.

Thanks.
