Re: Cant find the program with digitized music?
Finally, after two months of searching I found it !!! The file is called Normal Life, I don't know anything about it, but the music is absolutely beautiful. Enjoy. :) http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=17183104842652916518 Sounds like a .mod file using samples down-sampled from ST-01 :D

Re: New Super Mario Bros (demo)
It's not gigascreen, it's dependant on the progress through the level and the sprites' positions onscreen to give the impression that there's more horizontal resolution than there really is. Clever.

Re: Spectrum memes
You're kidding. That was freakin' hilarious :D I dunno. I feel like I have to second Sokurah a little bit. This looks awfully similar to the regular Manic Miner logos and Willy. So what is it supposed to be? I expected something along the lines of Can I have Manic Miner? We have Manic Miner at home...

1. Finders Keepers
2. Kikstart 2
3. Agent X II
Christ that was a hard choice to make. Like Melbourne House, there was just so much win in their catalogue.

DEVIL FISH
A lovely little maze-chase game with fish food, expanding baddies and a cute death sequence. Would likely be a cinch in AGD.

Re: Head over Heels back on Steam
They're two completely separate cases, dude. Octy made videos and didn't sell anything. The soft toys happened a while back and was nothing to do with Octavius. I don’t think that’s quite true, although it’s difficult to get the entire story behind this. Paul Andrews said in his statement that Retr...

Re: Head over Heels back on Steam
Hmm? Doesn't it contradict the idea that "he's fine with people using Horace and other IPs he owns, except if they’re sold commercially that the company makes a donation to charity instead of the license fee" ? Apparently this person and her assistant were also involved in making and sell...

People need to take a closer look at the Miner Willy sprite image he's trademarked. A really close look.

SpecBAS 0.972 now available!
After a small round of tiny but oh so important bugfixes.. I'm releasing yet another new version. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6gXsz43xir_eV9JbWhUZ1Rxc0k This fixes possible crashes (hopefully) associated with using the menu in the editor, fixes listing corruption in hex strings and also fixes...

SpecBAS 0.971 now available!
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6gXsz43xir_eV9JbWhUZ1Rxc0k Fixes a few occasional crashes and sorts out a few bugs in the editor. Also allows concatenated statements with the ";" character - like PRINT, but for everything: FOR x=0 TO 9;y=0 TO 19: NEXT y;x For example. Have fun, and feed...

SpecBAS 0.970 now available!
Ok, it's time for an update, and we're at 0.970 now! New for this update: Huge amount of fixes in how numbers are printed, and how they're used in FOR NEXT loops - no more accumulated floating point errors! The main menu has now been enabled in the editor, which should make life a little easier inst...

1. Deathchase (SURPRISE!)
2. Jasper.
3. Haunted Hedges (I was young, ok?)
I always found Jasper so damned hard, but loved it. Actually one that I played because of the glowing Crash! review. I wanted to love it as much as they did, so I did. Aren't kids weird?

Re: Light Guns and Speccy
The lightguns of the day for the Speccy worked by watching the raster beam. They didn't see a "picture" at all, just a moving dot of light as the picture was built up.

You absolutely, definitely need an old CRT TV to play on. LCD will not work. I'm not sure if composite will affect it; I suspect not.

Re: SpecBAS program under development
ASH forget the rotating earth! Apparently its so slow that an observer on the moon would never notice and it also stays in the same place on the horizon. Mind you nobody says it has to be our moon or even our solar system! It would be a cool feature and add a bit of sparkle to the look of the thing...

Re: SpecBAS program under development
Stick in some random landing pads and you have a game :) I'm gonna use this to teach Mike about some of the more fun aspects of getting a game going on a PC :) For landing pads, you've got two issues - firstly, how to identify something as a landing pad when using an image of a moon surface, and se...

Re: SpecBAS program under development
I look forward to discussing it with you - taking apart other people's programs and studying how they work is the fastest way to learn to code. Most of the variable names should be pretty obvious (if abbreviated in places). looking up what commands do that you're uncertain of will help. The "jo...

Re: SpecBAS program under development - Link to image
I wish I knew how to turn a running program into a video so I could put it up on my YouTube channel and show my other friends what it looks like. There are several free recording solutions on the web - though I use the built-in one in Windows 10 - it works pretty well. Like this one: https://www.yo...
