Re: Screenshot from an unknown game

The 2 head graphics ring a bell for me. They look familiar, but I’m unable to recollect where! It’s definitely a WIP (or mock-up) that never saw a release. I’ll try and remember or figure it out.

Re: Sweevo World/Whirled + Hydrofool + Wunderland

If I remember correctly, Greg Follis and Roy Carter just aren’t interested about discussing their old games. At all. So I doubt we’ll ever find out directly from them, I’m afraid.

Maybe one day! I “unofficially” retired from doing Spectrum graphics...but I do miss doing them.

I would’ve liked to but I just not taking in anymore stuff, sadly, due to various reasons. Another time, maybe.

Re: The Last Ninja loading screen

Oh it’s all there in the book. Mind I only did the loading screen the in-game mock-up screen. I’ve not got the book to hand to clarify my memory, but The Last Ninja was started on the Soectrum, but it wasn’t quite working out and the original developer left. Mevlut Dinc picked it up and I think star...

Re: Tips on searching

I must admit, I find the 2 options; ZX Spectrum 16K/48K and ZX Spectrum 48K/128K slightly confusing when you've got the separate options for ZX Spectrum 16K , ZX Spectrum 48K and ZX Spectrum 128K . So, for example, if you select ZX Spectrum 48K only, should it only 48K only software or all software ...

Cool no worries. You can mibbees see where I’m going with this. ;)

I have a few solutions that spring to mind based on the known details and they may need to be altered depending on details provided by either Vampyre or Einar Saukas.

That makes sense. What magazine scores aren’t stored as a number?

Re: Do you play your games on a physical Speccy or an emulator?

I very rarely play games these days, too, but I have my Next permanently plugged into and under the television in my living room for when I do anything Spectrum related and displayed in the natural non-widescreen aspect ratio ;) . I also still load games from cassette just because I do enjoy that wh...

Yeah, looks like the score is stored as text and not as a number - is the % stored on the database?

Re: Maria

Yeah I think that’s what I saw before now, but after @patters’s comment about The Simpsons I can’t not see two eyes. On Willy too, under the brim of his hat, the negative space looks like an eye? No, the 2 black pixels separated with the white pixel have always been eyes on both Willy and Maria. Th...

Ah, I see! Does the form just build up the INSERTs in an sql (or txt) file when it’s submitted? Yes, how you can see it here (Filename column). https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/zxdb/add/public/history_entries.php Thanks, interesting to see! Re: Is the Next sold out everywhere?

The 2nd Kickstarter for the Next is due in August this year...at least I think it’s August. There may be some that become available on their website, like fairly recently (but they’re all gone now). You might be able to buy one on eBay.

A wee SQL query on the ZXDB database and you should get some results. I think R-Tape’s your man for that!

Re: List of Next Games

Some author names are clearly pseudonyms. Are they not liked? Is it preferred to write names as they themselves like to write them? e.g. Oscar BraindeaD (capital D on end of name), or is it preferable to just leave the author name blank if its clearly not his real name (or her) ;) This makes me chu...
