Re: Gryzor disk release?

I saw some in the Ocean offices back in 1988. I've seen 1 or 2 on eBay but years ago, not recently.

I wonder why they put 'I.C.U.Ps' and 'Arc of Yesod' out on the long defunct Thor label instead of Odin? Anyone know?

Re: The best Speccy game by Odin Computer Graphics: vote

I had the same with Brian Bloodaxe. Never got to play it as it wouldn’t load (always said LD ERR when it finished). 20 years later, I fired it up on an emulator and played it for the first time. Can’t say it was worth the wait. I'm assuming you do know Brian Bloodaxe is supposed to do a fake reset ...

It certainly amazed me back in the day! Those big colourful graphics, it looked like nothing else. I also loved the little touch of the Gargoyle from the loading screen opening his mouth at the start.

Re: Oli Frey

I'm absolutely gutted. I too bought Crash back when I was a kid, starting around June 1984. I grew up reading the names Roger Kean and Oliver Frey throughout my teenage years and beyond. They were as much a part of my childhood as friends and family in real life were. Then, around 2010, I met them f...

Rasputin by Firebird has wrong year

Just noticed that this site (and WOS) says Rasputin by Firebird came out in 1986. That's wrong as I bought my copy either on the day or just a few days after it came out on 24 December 1985. My copy still has the receipt in it: https://twitter.com/MarkRJones1970/status/1550551714268323840?t=9kSOrerj...

Does anyone have any idea what ZOG is? It was mentioned earlier in the thread and Tim Stamper himself mentioned it in reply to my tweet about some design documents In February:

I bought it as a new release on one of my lunch hours at Ocean in 1987. I thought it was great, quite original at the time. Couldn't get very far though!

Re: What's your golden age of Crash?

Mine's June 1984 to the end of 1986. This was the time I was just a games player and didn't really havea clue how games were made so there was an air of magic about the games contained within. Once I started working at Ocean that all changed. I was looking at games differently and started to learn h...

Never managed to do it again!

Re: 2 MIA games - looking for advice how to preserve

I tried your Fruit Machine game. Once started it asks if you have a 128k machine. I'd started Spectaculator in 128 mode, but when you start the game it crashes and resets. I tried a Sinclair 128, +2 and +2a. Crashes on all 3. Loaded it in 48k and it works.
