Re: Homebrew coin-op conversions that were never tackled commercially

Some coin-op conversions appeared on the C64 but were only announced on the Spectrum and never surfaced. Off the top of my head: Iron Horse, Congo Bongo, Up 'n' Down. Also worth mentioning are Thunder Jaws, which only came out as a promising-looking demo, and Trojan, of which just a half-finished Sp...

Re: Podcast about the Spectrum on Floppy Days

I didn't know the early Spectrum manufacturing line at Dundee was staffed by women building the Speccies - in fact I naively thought it was a highly automated blue-lit factory like in the TV advert! There's a photo in the Spectrumpedia, Vol. 1 page 36, depicting that. Those hard-working women's han...

Re: DivMMC Future compatibility?

I bought my EnJoy some 6 years ago from Byte Delight and so far did not experience any issues, except for it being a bit loose on the +2A, so that I have to put a small booklet under it to avoid wobbling - on the 48K, 128 etc. this does not happen. Other than that, no compatibility problems whatsoev...

Pasmo 0.5.5

Last March Julian Albo made available the sources for the 0.5.5 version of his Pasmo assembler. https://pasmo.speccy.org He announced it on another forum, where I asked him whether a Windows executable file would habe been made available. He answered that he had to do some tests and then executables...

I, Ball: Did you try the TAP file I made a while ago? It works fine with Kempston on the +2A. http://disegnareconlaluce.altervista.org

Locomotion: Did you try the fixed file from here? Again, it works fine on the +2A. https://www.alessandrogrussu.it/plus2A-en.html

Re: Game art copied from elsewhere

Times New Roman is my first choice for Word documents at work because it's compact and readable enough on both screen and paper, and since it comes with every Windows system, colleagues and pupils won't have any problem into visualizing/printing them correctly, since everybody uses Windows and nobod...

I would also like to know about this new version, the usual link still shows the 01.10.22 one.

Re: Preservation Tools - Submissions Feedback/Q/A

Hi @Alessandro quick question. Has Jackson Soft (Italy) re-released a title outside the covertape of "Magazine Jackson Soft Oro Spectrum"? Because if that is the case, there is no need of having it as "re-release" on titles like Pyjamarama, since it is already mentioned as a cov...

I put a simple web page on my website with all the download links for Claus's programs from the ZX-Modules suite, plus other three utilities also by him. Honestly I don't know how to contact him to ask him for permission, I just hope he does not mind - should he disagrees with me hosting his program...

Re: Key preferences - am I the only one who doesn't like QAOP?

No you aren't. Back in the day I used the Cursor joystick combination mostly, later I grew more accustomed to the Sinclair one. I always felt QAOPM to be awkward and uncomfortable to use. When redefining keys, I set them as SDKML with A as an additional key when needed, H for pause and Q to quit. By...

Re: ZX Spectrum code on The IT Crowd DVD ?

It is a Spectrum standard ROM loading sound in fact, and to me it sounds pretty much like part of a screen memory dump while loading, the pixel data that usually goes between addresses 16384 and 22528. The problem is, being just a small part, without header and the rest, you won't be able to load it...
