Re: The Amiga games libary vs The ZX Spectrum's
Cybernoid and Cybernoid 2.
They had the same maps, same layout (more maps on the Amiga) and the same gameplay. Graphics were amazing on the Amiga, loads of particles as you'd expect.
But the Amiga version absolutely stunk.

Re: Zx Omni what is it? Is it any good?
Awesome. I take it batteries are not included? Djordge is not clear on his website on this. Nope, you will have to source your own. I used these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Battery-Plastic-Cigarettes-Starter-Nicotine/dp/B09P198PWB/ (but 3500mah) and here they are in my Omni: https://i.ibb.co/f4TFf44/...

Re: Zx Omni what is it? Is it any good?
Good to hear. The HDMI is still not working? Anybody knows the battery life of the ‘laptop’? HDMI not working no. Battery life between 2 and 3 hours on 3.5mhz speed, charges when plugged in. Batteries are cheap enough to source on ebay - get some decent 3500mah. What is the best location to purchas...

Re: Zx Omni what is it? Is it any good?
Thanks - so worth the wait :D Well, it's a rubberkey form factor with a (admittedly a little shonky) laptop screen running hardware that allows you to access the best of the Spectrum - 128k, DivMMC/EsxDOS, Kempston/Sinclair joysticks, 7Mhz turbo mode, a freakin' RESET button... And you can hook up ...

Re: Zx Omni what is it? Is it any good?
Is Retro Radionics that unreliable or slow? It's one guy in China who makes these (including the PCBs and cases), so he takes a while to work through his backlog - and then you have shipping from China to content with also. There was a parts (screens iirc) shortage last year or two that didn't help...

Mine is my nick name from school (Dunny), which also means "toilet" in aussie slang. The ZX part comes from a small obscure 80s computer.

Re: Sinclair 128K, by Sinclair???
If you specify which spectrum you're developing for, people will switch their emulators accordingly. I like developing for real machines, better than emulators, but I don't own any toastrack, so I have to test my games with emulators, but don't know what test should I do, as I don't know where is t...

Re: SpecBAS can now make standalone executables
It's fine here - but Chrome thinks it has a virus inside. As does Defender. But there are not, I can assure you of that :) You can add it as an exception in Windows Defender (or your AV of choice) and it should download/run without problems. Edit: Sent a copy of beast.exe to Microsoft for analysis a...

Re: Sinclair 128K, by Sinclair???
Then the toastrack (Zx Spectrum+ 128K) was made by Sir Clive Sinclair, in England. OK, that's the thing, as I wanted to test every Sinclar computer, but not interested in Amstrad. I won some Zx81, Zx Spectrum 16K, Zx Spectrum 48K, Zx Spectrum+, and a QL. But I still haven't tested the Zx80 and the ...

Re: SpecBAS can now make standalone executables
In the github page I see only, SpecBAS v0.980,Dec 14, 2019. It's it? You need to read the instructions, under "Installing SpecBAS". Once you have installed the release, you can update with the binaries on the front page. SpecBAS is WIP (and probably will remain so for the rest of time) so...

SpecBAS can now make standalone executables
Hey folks - Something that has been requested for a while now and at the bottom of my list was realised yesterday - SpecBAS can now make 32 or 64bit windows executables of your code. It's just a very simple "interpreter with your code baked in" solution for now, but it works and it works w...

Re: BASIN and UDG graphics
Hi @ZXDunny. After one week of creating my new game with using your tool, I would have some suggestions, how to improve it a little bit. 1) Auto focus cursor if you write very long line/text. https://maps.speccy.cz/temp/basin2.png Yeah I'll fix auto-scrolling. 2) Possibility to switch off automatic...

Re: BASIN and UDG graphics
Oh, perfect. Thanks! Is there a way how to save (and then open) the whole project at once? Not only BASIC, but also memory blocks with exported UGD, chars, assembler routines, etc.? Think I used a sna or Z80 file to save data, UDGs and Basic, but source would not be included because it doesn't resi...

BASin uses $ED00 to trap its various functions so kinda already does this, just not in any user-configurable manner.

Re: .scr file to Animated GIF converter
A new update to SCRToAnimGIF is up - v1.3 with better audio. Less background hum with mp4 files.
Next up will be custom loading schemes such as Speedlock, alcatraz etc.

Re: .scr file to Animated GIF converter
UPDATED! Now outputs a sound file (if you specify -sound on the command line you'll get an 8bit mono WAV file) and if you specify the -mp4 switch (and have ffmpeg available in the same bit-ness as the scr2animgif executable) you will get a spanky mp4 with SOUND if you have sound enabled! same URL as...

Re: .scr file to Animated GIF converter
For some time, the term "toxic person" has become popular on the Internet. It is best to avoid such persons. It's Ok, I said I forgive you. You said you'd already made a program that does what my tool does, and you said that you had made it 6 years ago. I pointed out that mine made animat...
