Re: Zx Omni what is it? Is it any good?
I updated the esxDOS to 0.89. After I was pointed in the right direction this worked flawless. My question is, has anybody already tried to reflash the chip with the Roms? Currently the chip contains 2 diagnostic Roms that I don't need and lacks the Jupiter Ace Rom so reflashing this chip would mak...

Re: Long Filename Browser for ZX-UNO / esxDOS
Is there any chance for a way to OUT 32765,48 prior to launching a .tap file? Maybe on shift/symb+Enter? Not sure if it's possible or if I just need to ID the files that need it and add it to their BASIC loaders. You can't currently do this from the browser. Wasn't sure how useful this was outside ...

Re: Long Filename Browser for ZX-UNO / esxDOS
Installed this on my Omni - ESXDOS v0.8.7 - and it seems really nice. Some feedback: 1. It's good. Really good, and much better than the built-in esxdos browser. Makes your NMI a pleasure to press. 2. Browsing without having to hold shift on 5678? Would be nice not to have to. Also would be nice to ...

Just got mine. I'm in the process of building an SD card for it. And damn I need a long filename browser. Anyone know of one that will work on the Omni? You can use the long filename browser from bob_fossil https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=2553 It works fine with esxD...

Re: Frogger from cassette 50 Help please
I feel that we could speed Frogger up a lot by replacing the SCREEN$ calls with a small m/c stub. It works by looking at the screen space that the frog is moving into. If there's nothing there, it matches a space (which fortunately is the first character in the charset) and returns that - the frog i...

Re: Atic Atac PC Remake Released - NOT MY WORK
And all the sprites seem to have this horrible individual 'vignette' effect where they darken away a certain radius from the centre of the sprite. It makes everything look like a smudge. Used to see that a lot on the 16Bit ports for Speccy games. The artists didn't know what to do with the original...

Lol...why old-ass youtubers always feel the need to make these daft faces in the video snapshots? It's so ridiculous :D (and one of the reasons I never watch any of them). Eye-tracking experiments have found that our eyes are attracted to: 1. Faces 2. Circles 3. Slightly diagonal black text on yell...

Re: PC Idea: Spectrum Environment and Interpreter
This is literally how SpecBAS was born. When I was a kid, I didn't have the brain necessary to code in m/c so I pined for the speed but wanted it in BASIC. Now we have PCs with multi-GHz CPUs I could realise my dream - and made SpecBAS. It runs natively on the PC and interprets Sinclair BASIC with e...

Re: Elementary BASIC code snippets for Beginner
From what I see SpecBAS is very good but the lack of some commands make it a bit incompatible for what I want to do. Also, most listings I found need modification to run there. Although I don't recommend trying to use SpecBAS to run pure Sinclair BASIC programs - you will get issues with display siz...

Everyone's had their Top 10 whittled away, with the exception of the untouchable @ZXDunny, with @catmeows only left with 2 of their 10 remaining. @Luzie is looking like the bookies' favourite with 8 picks still in the hunt. Still quietly (not really) confident here in zxdunnyland - it's been a real...

So there's another ad that I found a bit curious the other day:
https://archive.org/details/your-comput ... 3/mode/2up
It was fun to start there and see what happened. I don't know what the outcome was though.
