Great videos. I just found it odd to see the name of the games shown after each game, not before.

Re: Beeper music during gameplay/action
I just wanted to add that about a year or two ago someone made a demo in 100% Sinclair Basic which featured Beeper music during the whole demo. It's a bit off-topic but I thought it was worth mentioning because it was impressive to see (and hear). Can't remember the name of the demo though.

Question about Spectrum colours
I was very young when I discovered that Spectrum colours were perfect for creating a fade effect (from 0 to 7 or from 7 to 0) in my BASIC programs, especially when using a black and white TV or monitor. However, I still don't understand the logic behind it. Can anyone please explain it in layman's t...

Re: Do you remember the first time?
purchased a nice Timex 12'' Green Phosphore monitor Are you sure it was Timex? The Polish-made green phosphor Neptun 156 was very popular in Portugal and Europe and was commonly sold at Sinclair dealers, but I've never heard of a monitor made by Timex, either here (United States) or anywhere in Eur...

Re: Do you remember the first time?
I wish I had started using a Spectrum as early as most of you. My first memories of actually using a 48K Spectrum are from summer 1987 at my cousin's apartment, but I didn't get my own until 1988 or 1989. It's sad that I can't remember the date, but it wasn't Christmas or birthday or any special day...

Re: Speccy turns 39 today!
For a few hours I didn't see any mention of the anniversary, here or on the other forums, and I was starting to feel a bit sad. It'd be like forgetting your wedding anniversary until it's too late to fix it. Good to see it got mentioned here.

This isn't the best/easiest way to ask for help, but Shazaam doesn't understand humming... https://www.dropbox.com/s/68a9lfv4agenvxg/unknown01.szx?dl=0 Those are just the first few notes but should be enough? It's probably well known but I was never good with classical music titles and authors. Than...

At the risk of being told something obvious (and after a quick search on the website) I must ask where to find the second picture on the bottom, counting from left to right. If it's in the replies I completely missed it.

Question about Tiratok demo (2020)
Sent a link to my cousin asking him to watch this demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qetFo2u4-yM I suggested a 48K machine could run the code, minus the music unless it had an AY interface. What I couldn't explain was the odd colours seen in the demo. Is this one of those demos that would flicker...

Nice to see evilpaul here.
If I remember correctly, ZX Spin supported MIDI emulation.

Re: Writing parallax scrolling games in BASIC?
I really like this. I've always had a thing for games in Sinclair Basic. Years ago someone proved they could do pixel text scrolling without any machine code or Pokes. Related: I've always wanted to see a Fred-type game in Basic, where the character stays in the center of the screen and the map scro...

Don't kill me please. I know this is not "World of Chit Chat" but I was looking for a section where to post a question, not Spectrum related, but couldn't find one? It's ok if there isn't one. Just used to the idea that Spectrum folks can talk about many things, not just our beloved comput...

Thank you. You were right about the typo. So, we know it jumps to 19028, but the previous routine copied 76 bytes to 19e3 therefore I'll start there: @19000: di ld hl,22528 ld de,22529 ld bc,767 ld (hl),7 ldir ld hl,40506 ld de,19000 ld bc,76 ldir jp 19028 This is what was at 40506 before the 76 byt...

Re: Timex Sinclair 2068 - The American ZX Spectrum
If I remember Chris Smith's explanation correctly, the "wrong" border size is due to the way NTSC works. I remember noticing it on every single TS2068 I tried over here.

Questions about saving unprotected versions of 48K games
I'm one of the few people in the world who still finds machine code complicated, so forgive me if the questions are dumb... -Some older games load with Load""code and the code block occupies 49152 bytes or more. How does the rom know which address to jump to once the block is loaded? What ...
