Re: The code so bad you won't hire

Psh, you and all your complicated code. Surely it doesn't get much worse than this?

Code: Select all

10 GOSUB 10: RETURN
Not only will it grow the stack and give an error, but the RETURN isn't even needed

Re: Spaces in variable names

I wonder what happens if you do this;

10 LET pig = 10
20 LET dog = 20
30 PRINT pigdog

(easy to test, but I can't be bothered, lol)

Re: Zaxxon, should have been better for 1985

Zaxxon on the Speccy was indeed a terrible and not well-executed game, but I honestly struggle to think of anyone that could do a real good conversion of it in 1985, because isometric and scrolling on the Spectrum is no mean feat.

I like it, but I'm not sure I'd want one. I'd like to be able to see the things I'm cutting up instead of losing them on the messy background image :snowman

It's not his engine as it has been completely rewritten, so it definitely shouldn't be there.

Re: Are all coders basically autistic?

Agreed. Aside from the negative connotations it seems intended to invoke, what would poor key choice (or poor UI design generally) have to do with autism? I don't think it's too bad. I mean, it's not worse than calling a friend a ... c-unt because he says something silly. I just take it as an exagg...

Cobra is the best technical achievement, but I still prefer the look and gameplay of Hysteria . But ... Cobra has an excellently animated burger in it. I noticed this shop yesterday, so today I stopped and took a picture.
Perhaps I should go in and ask for the location of any Orolas (the small aliens that you're supposed to collect in the game) ;)

Head Over Heels is an interesting debate - I personally wouldn't have rated it anywhere nearly as highly as Crash did. I agree with you. Well, I will rate HoH very highly due to its technical execution - it's big, has lots of rooms and creatures and innovative gameplay ... but I just never enjoyed ...

Some of Chris Kerry's games would look better with a lot less colour, and some shading/details instead. Agree, I've applied the "less colour" idea to Jack and the Beanstalk, but I'm confident that it'll work perfectly for Monty is Innocent, Giant's Revenge and most of his other games too ...
