Re: Site Updates

Replacement screenshot for Pippo (thanks Dario Ruellan) You're going to hate me, but the loading screen is still wrong  The thing is, when the game finishes loading, it starts a cool palette rotation effect, that's why there is a "blue" version of the screen, but the correct one is t...

Someone mentioned on the other forum how fresh and innovative his designs are even today, and I kind of agree.

Re: Outlet Software marked as MIA

Another thing: some software was intentionally added to the magazine, even when it is corrupted. So far this is always clearly stated on the magazine's introductory text. So, if the software malfunctions, it is a good idea to read the instructions top to bottom. https://s7.postimg.cc/vdrwdc7sn/2018-...

Re: Outlet Software marked as MIA

I keep diddling into this magazines, and I've found two interesting things that perhaps can help other people checking the other disk images. * First, almost every software includes the magazine footer on the code. Looks suspicious at first sight, but it is just the routine that is hidden on those R...

Re: The Definitive Programmer’s Guide to Using the Floating Bus Trick on the ZX Spectrum

On Spectrum we always got good emulators IMO. I think part of the problem was the transition from DOS to Windows. A lot of good emulators where left behind during that period. Take for example Ramsoft's RealSpectrum for DOS. I used that emulator to preserve REAL 5 1/4 40 SD Disciple discs, using the...

Curiously enough, in his blog post Seems he was using a bright 1 black attribute as delimiter. That's clever: https://i1.wp.com/stevewetherill.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Screen-Shot-2015-02-24-at-10.13.10-PM.png?resize=768%2C673 I didn't fully appreciate that Sidewize / Crosswize run at 50fps. ...

Interesting! Save states is the way EmuZWin does it AFAIK, and Plus-F is doing something similar but fragmenting the packets to improve latency.

In my opinion he was generally a very modest man. He would probably say you that all his tricks were nothing special and not worth to get excited about.
Was Steve Wetherill also able to figure out the trick for SideWize?

Oh, thanks for that!

A couple of member use Retroarch for streaming, I'm going to ask about it, but if I remember correctly, the FUSE core for Retroarch is not Netplay capable. I might be wrong, though.

Broadband is more usual nowadays. I hope you can organise online matches on this forum :) Thanks!, and yes, I'm looking for a Match Day event, sadly, I can't host it myself because of the latency, but I'm encouraging the Spanish community to see if anyone can host a tournament. Meantime I'll keep e...

I've just reminded one video I watched the other day where a few spec-chums tried to play some games online using the multiplayer feature from Emuzwin. Perhaps the Pausing mechanic would help to reduce lag to play 1on1 online. Hi! That was m...

Re: Carrier Command TAP image broken

Yes, other images seems to work fine. If so, I will simply mark the TAP as broken in ZXDB, and leave information about the TZX only. *Jem* are there instructions how to do that? I'm still learning. I have a local mysql server, so, the idea is to download the database, make the modifications and crea...

Carrier Command TAP image broken

Hi! Seems that the Carrier Command TAP image is not working as intended: the game crashes while refitting your Walrus. http://www.worldofspectrum.org/pub/sinclair/games/c/CarrierCommand.tap.zip Tested: FUSE / ZXSpin This image is still not in Spectrum Computing, so I'm not sure how to proceed. Re: Outlet Software marked as MIA

Just finished testing. All MGT images seem to work fine. I've tested the first files on the disk, some on the middle and the last one. The only image giving problems was OutletIssue101.mgt.zip, but seems to be an emulation problem, rather than corruption. So, in short, everything looks fine on all ....

Yes, what I can do is start testing MGT images, that are the latests issues AFAIK. So, if you want to also start testing, you can do that on tapes or microdrives.

I only tested a couple of images, but I can confirm that two of the MIA-marked software is OK, so, seems not to be a correlation.
Anyway, I can try and start testing all of them. I used to have a MGT Disciple, so, could be interesting.

Outlet Software marked as MIA

Hi! I've found something interesting on the database: There is an electronic publication called OUTLET, The Spectrum Drive Magazine. This publication used to compile a bunch of software (Tape, Disciple and Microdrive). The magazine is available for download, for example: https://zxinfo.dk/details/00...
