I'd have been disappointed with it at a budget price. At best, it'd be interesting as a magazine covertape inclusion.
Bought it full price and I was quite satisfied.

Better than the coin op conversion, with its trite and repetitive smash-everybody gameplay.

Re: Game of the day...

Robocop 2 doesn't even give you the chance of mindless destruction because some of the baddies must simply be arrested by touching them, and if you shoot them, your energy is drained, so you must constantly be careful. A pain in the iron bottom.

Robocop 2 [Ocean Software, 1990] https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/pub/sinclair/screens/in-game/r/RoboCop2.gif Simply too hard. You even have to make the old heap of rusty iron jump from platform to platform. Well done, but a bit overrated: Crash Smash (93%), Sinclair User Classic (91%) and Your Sinc...

Hammerfist [Activision, 1990] Never understood back in the day how this peculiar sci fi game works, but now that I know, looks like I can't stop playing it (played it for hours last night). ST. DRAGON [Storm, 1990] As in Dragon Breed, released the same year, you control a sort of dragon which can use its tail as a shield or as a lethal weapon, while shooting at myriads of nasties in a horizontally scrolling enviroment. It was a Crash Smash. Pretty tough too. https://spectrumcomputing....

What did Bob Pape do after the miraculous R-Type conversion? Another horizontal space shoot'em up conversion of a Irem coin-op: Dragon Breed [Activision, 1990]. Not spectacular as R-Type but still a high level effort. Damn hard though. https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/pub/sinclair/screens/in-game/d/D...

I've started to play The House on the Tor , a 1990's text adventure by Zenobi Software. It's pretty playable, with no Sudden Death Syndrome, in fact, with no death at all until now. It's a mystery concerning a house that your uncle left you. No elfs nor trolls. https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/SCRtoI...

It is easy in Ghouls to reach level 3 after a few goes.

I've played both games tonight AGAIN. My final response is that Ghouls is more difficult and less fun than Ghosts, and so my vote goes to the latter, and my recent statement about Ghouls being better is... OVERTURNED! edit: Wow, in the meantime Ghouls had reached Ghosts and it became a draw until my...

True, you can turn into a duck. Is it something happening in the arcade too?

Anyway, I don't see any vote for Ghouls.

Re: Ghosts 'n Goblins VS Ghouls 'n' Ghosts

I've just played them one after the other, and I've realized that the first part, which is very similar in both games (zombies emerging from the ground) is harder and more frustrating in Ghouls 'n' Ghosts: the collision detection is unforgiving, while it is more friendly in Ghosts 'n Goblins, and th...

Ghosts 'n Goblins VS Ghouls 'n' Ghosts

Hello. I recently wrote somewhere that the Ghouls 'n' Ghosts conversion is better than its prequel conversion, which is, of course, the Ghosts 'n Goblins conversion. But I didn't play the latter in a while. In some years, in fact, probably. Now that I've tried it again, just yesterday, I'm not so su...

I didn't know that. I thought "topo" was mouse, because "topo" means mouse in italian.
