A couple more... 'Autumnal journey as dusk'. This one completed my seasons set (Wintry Lodge, Reflections of Tranquillity and Morning expedition) https://zxart.ee/zxscreen/border:0/mode:mix/palette:pulsar/type:standard/size:2/id:204534/ 'The Italian Job'. Re: New loading screens by Andy Green

Thanks, Ralf!

Here's another in my What if.... this game was released on the ZX Spectrum? It's First Samurai. An excellent platform game that I had on the Amiga.

Re: New loading screens by Andy Green

Couple of new alternative game loading screens: Roller Coaster (Elite, 1984). Loved (and loathed) this fast and frantic game. https://zxart.ee/zxscreen/border:0/mode:mix/palette:pulsar/type:standard/size:2/id:204269/ Auf Wiedersehen Pet (Tynesoft, 1984). Loved this TV comedy series back in the day. ...

Re: New loading screens by Andy Green

Yep. It's from The Legacy although I had no idea at the time when I drew it and only found out the other day. I was provided some images by the game developer for inspirations. I think it was also the cover for a paperback. Couldn't tell you which one though.

Re: New loading screens by Andy Green

Future Wars is on my list. ;) For the observant amongst you, you'll notice that Conrad is no longer is colour but in black instead (image is linked to ZX Art website) to emulate an actual ZX Spectrum sprite. Now all we need is to see him in motion! I hope this mock-up screen version meets approval. :D

Incredibly pretty landscape.

And not so good hero. Feels like drawn in 2 minutes and added at the last moment. ;)
LOL. I drew Conrad first before anything else. If it were an actual game, I would imagine he'd be monochrome. :D

Re: New loading screens by Andy Green

Thank you once again for all your feedback and kind comments! :D Hear my honesty when I say my latest screen wasn't even planned! It came about after messing about drawing a mountain range and it carried on from there. What happens after digressing from doing screens for upcoming gomebrew Spectrum g...

Thank you! I'll probably be quiet for a while as I'm currently working on some new homebrew screens. And also, that little thing called real life is interfering too much for my liking lol.

Couple of screens recently finished... Quahappy (new homebrew game by Jaime Grilo). Note: I'm also doing a version for myself (without title or face and the building a different colour. All the details is lost with dark blue although it does it purpose of making it look spooky...) https://zxart.ee/z...

Re: Put Here Graphics That Have Nowhere Else To Go

Aside from doing screens, I've never really dabbled with drawing sprites and the one below was born out of getting frustrated with the Firetrap alternative loading screen I did just before Christmas last year trying to draw the hero's face. Had right fun in the end drawing them lol. Who does the fac...

The Forest of Doom (ZX Spectrum, Puffin Books, 1984) - alternative loading screen. This game, based on the brilliant Fighting Fantasy books, never had a loading screen and although I originally did one back in 1995 on the Amiga (which can be found in the Commodore Amiga Pixel Art album on my Faceboo...

Re: The best classic Speccy game beginning with I: discussion

Iron Lord It's a game set in medieval times made of many smaller minigames like archery contest, sword duel, fighting a battle in strategy mode, wandering in the maze etc. It had a chance to became a classic like better known Defender of the Crown but failed here and there. Yet it's still an ambiti...

Re: New loading screens by Andy Green

Being quite cynical of my own work, I have to say I'm really pleased how the Toki screen turned out. This one also has the biggest number of saved WIP files as well which can all be seen in a timeline video that I uploaded to my Facebook page. :) https://www.facebook.com/AndyGreenPixelArt/videos/222...

LOL. That's because it is based on the actual recipient who I did this screen for. The original watercolour art was a Birthday present from his wife. :)

Re: New loading screens by Andy Green

Great job! It all looks quite scary like some horror game but funny at the same time. Like some really weird dream. I'm not sure about the logo. Probably some comic style round a bit deformed letters would suit better the general style. To be honest, the logo nearly didn't go in as I almost forgot ...

Re: New loading screens by Andy Green

I've always felt the MM loader is like the Queen's knickers - out of bounds, but this is a great screen. That's pretty much how I visualise the Kong beast too. I'd love to see the watercolour it's based on. Thank you! I thoroughly enjoyed doing this one. Below is the original painting. https://s18....

Re: New loading screens by Andy Green

For me, using Chrome, there is always an horizontal bar on the bottom, with a big LOGIN and Create new Account, that covers 1/3 of the screen. There is no way to close it (even after pressing "Not Now", when it first appears). Well I can hack the CSS and make it disappear :D But the avera...
