Re: Doomsday & Cell of the Ridges

I think Steve shared this one about five years ago on the 8-bit Text Adventures Facebook group, but I can't recall if it was ever added to the site. This particular compilation was a co-production between David at Quest and Scott at DTHS, with David selling the 3.5" disk version (for +D) and Sc...

Just doing a very quick visual inspection, at the very least the versions of some of the games on The Squirrel's Nuts volume 3 are different to the standalone versions we currently have in the archives.

Re: The Squirrels Nuts

There's quite a few issues with the Simon Avery entries as they stand, iirc. I've probably submitted some pending submissions in the past but I'll mention anything obvious later here as I quickly look at these. These compilations were all released by The Adventure Workshop. Like The Guild before the...

Golden Eggcup is a funny one in that it's more of an enhanced remake than a straightforward re-release.

Re: Game art copied from elsewhere

It's not exactly the same image, but it's clear the cartoon was the source. Some of the other Compass screen and box art has elements inspired by, or taken, from elsewhere including Fighting Fantasy and a fair amount from the Lord of the Rings movie. The working title for The Blood of Bogmole was T...

Nintendo's (and Miyamoto's) stance on this has changed over the years. At one point, Mario had no last name, but the current official view is that, yes, his name is Mario Mario.
