Re: Using A.I to recreate ZX Spectrum loading screens.

I believe that the picture with the reporter, big cat and dead sheep may be The Beast from Marlin games? I also don't think I'm alone in thinking that Disney/Pixar have missed a trick in not making films based on Spectrum games :D . If only the Speccy had been the biggest selling computer across the...

For what it's worth, I think you should keep the type-ins in. After all, these polls are about voting for a developer's complete body of work. I also think this should apply to any of the complete games that have were unreleased but have since been recovered as well.

Re: Dopamine hits - moments in Spectrum gaming that give you immense satisfaction

Successfully doing the flying neck chop in Barbarian and lopping off your opponents head, the sight of the goblin kicking his head along as it drags his body off the screen is a humorous touch.

Finally getting games with finicky loaders to actually load - The Rats, I'm looking at you.

1. Turbo Esprit 2. Thanatos 3. Harrier Attack And I do often wonder what software label of the Speccy era can be considered the 'Motown' of them all? (Yeah, my head is filled with very bizarre comparisons that are often illogical.) That could be a very good idea for a thread, comparing outputs of so...

1. Maziacs

3. Minder

Maziacs had some genuinely jump out of my skin moments when they suddenly appeared on the screen, while Trapdoor and Minder really catch the spirit of the TV shows they're based on.

I think nexus is another word for connection and @PeteProdge is displaying his knowledge of nineties indie by quoting a lyric from the song 'Connection' by Elastica.

Repton is far more, err, superior to the other two on this list. I like the cheating idea of BFMOF but it's a shame that it's such a shoddily programmed game.

Re: Clone Wars (Star Trek): vote

I'll admit I'm not really a Trekkie and the only one I've played is the version by UTS, which gets my vote by default, although I do realise that I'm probably doing the other ones a disservice by voting for a game that I only came across via the Cassette 50 compilation. I've also noticed from the sc...
