Spectrum Computing

The zx80 original UK version was a rather bulgy box with the contacts embedded in the plastic .

i would like to recreate the white version ( but don't have any 3d experience , except for using the prints ).

Anyone ever made an stl file ( 2 ) for the original zx80 power supply ??

the soldering iron did its job .
reflowed the ear and mic sockets took care of the problem .

verified with 4 128 game cassettes and 2 different cassette players .

sorry for the delay , real life takes a lot of time at the end of the year this is what happens ; https://i.postimg.cc/xX1pmx4B/IMG-1767.jpg on the other 128's the file loads fine . and the spectrum 128 has been tested with the smart-card diagnose system without any memory errors . any suggestions ??

The same tape , with the same cassette recorder and the same cables does load on 2 other 128 's

Hi forum , i am trying to repair for a friend , spectrum in 128 mode crashes when tape loading , in 48 mode it is fine what am i overseeing here ?? i have tested the 128 for 24 hours , and no ram errors came up . in fact all things possible testing ( with the smartcard v2 ) cam out without errors . ...

pcb size 100x100 mm , designs are much smaller so as much of them on this dimension would be helpfull

the anoyance here is that i repaired it some time ago and it had been memeory testing for a full night without problems .

and it came back witht his problem .......

the strangy here is it works fine as a 16k machine , ihave replaced all chips in the 48 line ( logic and ram ) with verified components and the error stays the same .

has the ula some influence in this ( don't have a replacement at hand )

resistance values are okay ,
voltages remain stable with ic 9 removed

keeps baffling me this one

even with a new 7805 those thing stay freakingly unreliable

i hust went through 9 of them , and could only revive 3 with average result

both elco , ceramic cap and patch on v in of the ula .

Can anyone help me out , would like to transfer the Parker Brothers rom games to SNA files so i can use them in a flash-card ( old style interface 2 ) i managed to get some reults , but apparently there are some issues with the generating of "usable" sna files has anyone some ideas jojo

spectrum issue 4A has a strange memory problem . whilst running retroleums diagnostics test i get this error , after passing low memory ; upper-memory fails because of defective ic 25 , 26 although these 74ls157 are taken from a known functioning spectrum ( and cross tested multiple times to verify ...

copied folders on the fat 16 formatted cf card ; bin sys and tmp from esxide 085 zip file

use mangled esxide rom to flash eeprom , usedoriginal .bin to flash the eeprom

only result is a sinclair copyright screen nothing more ,

nmi only resets the spectrum

the bare divide does not show the divide logo at startup .

i "mangled" the eprom .bin so that should be ok , but maybe you can share a .bin which is known to work

And once more got 4 divide's , 6 speccy's and none of them works in whatever combination i try .

So , in short i must have missed something .................

all have the same symptoms , no boot screen , nmi button only resets the speccy .

any help ??

what is more fun than spending a rainy day behind an old 8-bitter or even an QL .................
