Re: Long Filename Browser for ZX-UNO / esxDOS

To finally close the issue https://imageup.ru/img15/4030923/error.jpg This browser is running on MiSTer. Apparently, the file with the full name did not open, and I wrote it into the image a little shorter. It still didn't start. That's why I decided that it was because of the specific name Z80. Th...

Re: Long Filename Browser for ZX-UNO / esxDOS

New test version available here . The tape browser (_TPE plugin) can now be started with Caps Shift + T regardless of whether you have a .tap file attached (the plugin displays 'No tape file to browse!'. Pressing Shift + N inside the tape browser window lets you create a 0 byte empty .tap file which...

Re: Long Filename Browser for ZX-UNO / esxDOS

I'm sorry but it's loading fine now. Perhaps I tried to load on another computer, about three weeks ago. Perhaps there is not the latest version of the browser. But I can only double-check this in two days, sorry again. No problem. At least I've fixed the issue where the filename wasn't being displ...

Re: Long Filename Browser for ZX-UNO / esxDOS

link The file is archived. in emulators, it loads with such a "wrong" name, but did not want to in the browser, I had to rename it. This, of course, is not very important, but it is interesting what exactly the parser "stumbles" on. By the way, this test works on zx-uno, but rat...

And also in the browser. As far as I remember, he refused to load a file with this name "Z80 Test Program (2005-01-16)(Woigk, Gu¦Inter)[!].tap" I think it stumbles at the beginning of the name Z80? I did not come up with such a file name, but the author of the test, if anything) Can you p...

Re: Long Filename Browser for ZX-UNO / esxDOS

The converse statement is also true, that it is not so easy to modify and assemble the plugin code for the SJAsm assembler :) Swimming, we know.. It is necessary to port at least two main files "plugin.asm" and "esxdos.asm" and the main plugin file itself. Is the sheepskin worth...

Re: Long Filename Browser for ZX-UNO / esxDOS

It would be great if you could implement the execution of this command in your browser in case you detect a ZX-Uno and ENTER is pressed on a file with .ZX1 extension. Thanks. I'll add it to the list for the next version. Might be easier if Antonio had a look at the plugin SDK or source for one of t...

Re: Long Filename Browser for ZX-UNO / esxDOS

Just to let you all know that I've updated the latest v0.23 release with the fixes for attaching tapes and TurboSound playback in the PT3 plugin. If you downloaded v0.23 before this post, then you may want to download it again to get the fixes. Any other bugs and feature requests will now roll over ...

Re: Long Filename Browser for ZX-UNO / esxDOS

Last August 6 I left you this message in the ZX-Uno Telegram group: I have noticed that the PT3 plugin does not correctly play tracks in Turbo Sound, such as those that can be found in the Summer of '22 distribution in the /SPECCY/MUSICA/TS-PT3 folder. I have tested it with versions 0.22 and 0.23a5...

Re: loader to game "scaramouche"

That is great, Bob, thanks :) But what I am asking is a BASIC loader that I can type up in my Spectrum, save it in a tape and load it before the actual game, so the incompatibility is gone when I play the game in my +2A :) Untested but it looks like it's doing the right thing. :) 1 REM Scaramouche ...

Re: loader to game "scaramouche"

Could it be a Loader in BASIC? Thanks! I assmbled the code provided by goodboy and used this to load in the .tzx file of Scaramouche. After some fiddling around I got it into a normal .tap file. It will load a bit faster than the original does as it skips the first 16k of data loaded over the top o...

Re: Long Filename Browser for ZX-UNO / esxDOS

Hi @bob_fossil , I am testing version 0.23 on my ZX-Uno and I have noticed that it does not work to attach a file with CS+I or CS+O. The red led on the ZX-Uno lights up, but the bottom line indicating that it has done so does not appear. I also don't get any evidence that the opposite action works ...

Re: Long Filename Browser for ZX-UNO / esxDOS

Nice speed increase :) If I use version 0.23 and load a TAP file containing a BASIC program, the BORDER and PAPER are 0 rather than 7, and INK is 7 also rather than 0. Judging from the release notes for version 0.22 this appears to be a regression. The actual .tap loading is done by esxDOS not the ...

Hello I'm new here and a ZX Spectrum fan. 8-) First of all I would like to thank you for the great work here. I am using ZX Spectrum 128K with Lotharek's DivIDE 2k14 with ESXDOS v0.8.9. Browser version 0.22 works fine (no RAM version). The new version 0.23 shows files but cannot start anything. Got...

Re: Long Filename Browser for ZX-UNO / esxDOS

v0.23 Large amounts of the long filename processing and FAT reading code were re-written in assembly language to try and improve performance. Anecdotally, a folder that used to take ~5 seconds to display now takes ~3 seconds. Thanks to Chris23235 for helping to debug this. _CLP plugin now displays a...

Re: Does this flicker on real hardware?

OK, thanks. Ketmar's response was what I thought was going on. It's a limitation of how an emulator running on a machine with a graphics system with one set of timings can display the screen of an emulated machine which uses a different set of timings. Bob confirmed it's OK on real hardware. I'd al...

New test version available here.

You can now do:

Barring any late breaking bugs or issues, this will be the last test version before the full v0.23 release.

Re: Bounder Pre-Prod version preservation

A bit of manipulation with this tzx and the official release in a hex editor shows that both turbo blocks are nearly identical. Aside from the difference in spelling of the first BASIC block and some tape block checksum differences, there's a couple of small changes near the start: Pre-prod: 000001f...

More behind the scenes changes and optimisations with the added potential to break the core file browsing code. :) Also added a new font called SMART which is the font posted on here a while back that was 'borrowed' from the Retroleum Smart Card browser software.

Are you also planning to include the jukebox functionality for mym files? The music plugins are all based on 3rd party source or playback routines and it so happens that the PT2/PT3 source supported the option to not loop the song which is used for playing the next song. The MYM source doesn't offe...
