I already mentioned that on the first page.

Mind you, good luck in finding something else positive to say about it.
It's ideal for putting a few small routines or a better game onto the tape.

Had a quick blast through everything this evening. Spent most of the time playing the excellent Greed, simple yet oh-so satisfying! SumItUp was a maths intensive challenge that proved I couldn't add simple digits to total 9 grrr! ElementZX had a few Speccy related comments in there that made me laug...

Re: The most disappointing hardware for the ZX Spectrum?

Looking back, my black & white hand-scanner on the Amiga was a bit crap, but somehow I got plenty mileage out of it. I guess I'm turning into one of those old codgers who tell you how they used to spend hours playing with only a cup-and-ball... Gotta agree with you there, I had the Power Comput...

At first I thought the controls were broken as I could only move left. Reloaded and tried another control method, the same.... another reload to try another control method. Yup, the ability to move in other directions have to be found. I've always ignored pop-up messages on any game to state that an...

That is a great game. Shields and fuel for the hoverboard are picked up later in the game. Played it with EmuZWin, so I could use the roll-back function (yeah, a bit of cheating) to get through the entire game. It does have an end. If you do get to the giant squid thing make sure that you pick up th...

I remember seeing it in its double-box on the shelf in Boots, right next to the compilation 'Solid Gold' for just £1 more. That included Gauntlet itself, Infiltrator , Winter Games , Leaderboard and Ace of Aces . I still consider that £1 wasted to this day. Hey, Leaderboard is good! 😄 Only wh...

Nightshade - Ultimate I ordered this direct from Ultimate when the first advert appeared in a magazine - probably saw it in PCW at a mate's house. It's definitely another of those games that's more fun to program than play. Hence, there are a lot of versions out there but you'd be unlikely to want to spend more than a few minutes with even the best of them. Once you've got the knack it's just a tedious exercise in repetition that grows expone...
