Re: Aztec

I found it particularly curious, that no one seems to have noticed that the game uses a fake 3D (parallel projection), which allows full 360 rotation of the board (if you satisfy the Totem gods), and uses fully opaque and colored graphics, which is something never done before in ZX Spectrum, as far...

Re: WOOT 2021 IS HERE!

I finally had the time to browse through this year's issue. Hilarious as ever, and the interviews, especially the one with Douglas, were very interesting.

Thanks to everyone involved. And a special thank you for the mention of Italia 1944 :D

New release for CRONOPIOS Y FAMAS

https://img.itch.zone/aW1hZ2UvMTMzNDA1OS83NzYwNjAyLnBuZw==/original/nP%2Bmxj.png Another title from my past production has been revised and re-released under the Zankle Soft label. This time it is Cronopios Y Famas, which - if I remember correctly - was the first adventure game made with AGD versio...

Re: The ideal way to spruce up your bathroom...

Pfftttt should at least have a C5 as the toilet. Merry Christmas one and all. Hehe. Or an invigorating bidet, with that wonky battery. (do people actually have bidets? I've never been to a house that has one) Bidets are mandatory in Italian lodgings since 1975. I also found them in France, Spain, P...

You're supposed to have chocolates for breakfast Alessandro. Actually I made them yesterday evening for Christmas Eve's dinner. By the way, we don't eat chocolate for breakfast here, usually slices of soft bread or rusks with jam, marmalade, Nutella, honey etc. After my trip to Argentina I also lik...

Re: Happpyyyy chrissshmaaaassshhh

Buon Natale! Merry Christmas! And here is my contribution, my pitoni al forno. The pitone (or pidone ) is a typical Messinese street food, a pastry stuffed with tomatoes, anchovies, escarole and tuma (a soft Sicilian cheese) garnished with olive oil, salt and black pepper. They can be baked, as I di...

Re: COBRA, how to win?

I start walking around, and I don't go through a round, and suddenly, after a while, it does go through next round, and I don't know what causes that. I think the objective is to find the damsel, then keep shooting/stabbing/head-butting the baddies. They stop respawning and you can clear them all o...

Re: Space Racing

Well I think I use the firmware, as I said I am not an expert in spectrum, this is my load function. After starting the game, it changes pages and calls this function to continue loading data from the cassette. I assume that this way of loading is not compatible with DIVMMC, can it be? This is beyo...

Re: New release of Tapir + new MDR management utility

Mikie updated Tapir again! Here are the new features: * fixed a stupid bug introduced in release 17/01/22: The function that decides the TZX version based on the content was essentially disabled. This could have potentially lead to a serious error - saving a TZX with a wrong versi...

I tried the file with other utilities like WAV2TZX and audio2tape, they generate TZX files with similar errors.

I do hope the rumor won't be confirmed, although I already feel sad at the thought. If confirmed, that would be another sad loss in a few days for all of us. I fondly remember his excellent work on Batman and Head Over Heels in particular.

Well Night Shift was made by Lucasfilm Games (later LucasArts), so I think the Indiana Jones/Star Wars spoof references are understandable.

Re: Krakatoa - inevitable end?

I also loved Escape From Krakatoa back in the day, and played it again extensively for the 2003 Speccy Tour. As far as I could reach, there is no real ending to the game, even if you do your best to shoot down the V1s, destroy the submarines or avoid the volcano's projectiles, sooner or later you wi...
