Re: The 20 games with a <= 10% rating from all three major ZX Spectrum magazines
You wouldn't have this one in your list as 1. It's C+VG and 2. C+VG didn't have an Overall rating at the time, but it's possibly the only Speccy review of a game that goes into (averaged) negative marks territory: https://archive.org/details/ComputerAndVideoGamesIssue061Nov86/page/n23/mode/1up?view...

Re: The 52 games with awards from all three major ZX Spectrum magazines
In hindsight this was not enough and I have also added you to the video description. I went down the rabbit hole of ranking the games and forgot to properly credit the original idea properly and for that I apologise. Thanks Seb. I do like quite a lot of your videos BTW and I'll eventually return to...

Re: The 20 games with a <= 10% rating from all three major ZX Spectrum magazines
More generally, video game review scores have always had a problem where an average game is more likely to score around 60-70 and, once you get below 50, the numbers become pretty much arbitrary. Things like how much advertising the publisher has booked may play a role too. Speaking of which, has a...

Re: The 20 games with a <= 10% rating from all three major ZX Spectrum magazines
Am I misunderstanding your thread title? You list games that scored way more than 10% from one or two of the magazines, as confirmed by the averages you mention, yet the thread is called "<= 10% from all three magazines"? To me "from all three" means "The game received a ra...

Re: The 20 games with a <= 10% rating from all three major ZX Spectrum magazines
Los Angeles SWAT got awarded 26% by Crash and 2/10 by both SU and YS, so maybe that should be on the list? Nope, the parameters for inclusion is to be effectively rated 0%-10%. 26% is too high and 2/10 is effectively 20%. As utterly awful as LA Swat is, it's too high for this thread. Obviously the ...

The 20 games with a <= 10% rating from all three major ZX Spectrum magazines
Last year, I made a thread about all the games that got awards from all major ZX Spectrum magazines . It was titled 'The 52 games with awards from all three major ZX Spectrum magazines', as that's what I found in my initial calculation. However, it's actually 53, as I learnt when @zx4ever responded ...

Still in the Adventures section of YS #19 and Infogrames - not exactly known for any text adventures because it didn't make any - is mentioned because YS are doing that Compo On (Nearly) Every Page thing. Super Chopper got this, with six votes!
In second place, Fred's Fan Factory - which got four votes.
We get a richer picture from the proportional results:
Super Chopper 6
Fred's Fan Factory 5
Shuttle Shock 5
Flip Flap 1
Loony Lander 1

Yeah, I know not everyone will be happy at how the 48/128 versions of Magic Knight games are being represented, and if I treated them 'as one' there still wouldn't be overall satisfaction - I think that'd be worse. This is the way I think it should be, it's certainly not without its faults. So, here...

Re: Guess what Xeno, Double Take, Nightmare Rally, Basket Master, Renegade and Trap have in common
Is that Daniella Westbrook as the sister? Made the mistake of Googling her name... Jesus! She should be a Faces Of Meth poster child. It is, according to Wikipedia and some Queen fan sites. (An old boss of mine knew her as a friend and pointed out the septum problem to me at a time when it wasn't w...

Not sure why you've got Spellbound listed as two separate entities. :) Knight-Tyme and Stormbringer also have 128K versions in that case. I'm just going on how this website serves them up. I'm only familiar with the first 48K-only games because of that Sinclair User covertape! What should I be doin...

I think the winner will be one of the Magic Knight series. However, these eight titles show there was more to him than just Magic Knight, although the three non-Magic-Knight titles here may not even attract a single vote.
