Hmmm... amongst the titles were Asteroids and Ant Attack ...
they're not going to rename them as Arse Steroids and Aunt Attack, are they?

My money is on no response whatsoever, just like with the first post in that thread almost two weeks ago.

Re: New "special" issue of CRASH (with tribute to Jonathan Smith)
Alright, replying to various people in order of posting: @ Vampyre 'sup master gamer! That was just another joke of course simply because you kept mentioning the Dark/Demon Soul's Games. On the other hand, by now you should have learned how to down that 'alf a lager without problems, even zx1 could ...

Re: New "special" issue of CRASH (with tribute to Jonathan Smith)
Cheers guys. I aim to please! British people (well, those who actually are) telling a German something he made is funny must be a rare accolade. For some things referenced in the Bloggo's Pow intro text (before the three reviewers speak), I highly recommend you watch this video of Ashens losing it. ...

Re: New "special" issue of CRASH (with tribute to Jonathan Smith)
Hello again! It saddens me, but I got a lot less feedback on WoS than I got here even though (as I mentioned before) the mag was based mostly on WoS people and forum posts. I guess they're all too busy posting in the Chit Chat section to notice my "present" ... Okay, my replies but without...

Well, unless I'm mistaken this article is about Japan only, not the whole world. Do you live there? At least they have these shops with a big selection of games, even if they may be a bit pricey. I don't know about the UK, but in Germany such shops are extremely rare and when you find one, it's usua...

Yeah R-Tape ... or the vid where he apparently is about to shave ending with a big splash of ketchup shooting up the screen. Ah, what a nutter (I mean that in a good way) he was! That crazy artistic side you speak of, well I think you have that too, plenty of quirky things and ideas in your ga...

Cheers guys! EDIT: I've added an alternative download source for the PDF file, get it from here: https://easyupload.io/g4mbbs This one will expire after 30 days, which is at the end of July. By the way, the first download site ... I have no idea if it's dodgy or not, I managed to download from there...

Heh, that's very authentic. Since I've never heard of the show, at first I thought the photo in your phost was made by yourself (made to look like its from the 80s).
I guess young Nicholas Lyndhurst won the CPC he later used in one of the OFAH episodes

Re: Retro Magazine World - Free Magazine English & Italian
Thanks for the link, I downloaded the English version (good decision of the makers to go international!) and it looks interesting, it doesn't always have to be about Sinclair/Speccy. You know, here in Germany people are actually complaining about the German version of Retro Gamer referencing the Spe...

Cheers guys. At least there are some replies. I don't know if many people have seen it (the thread has been accessed nearly a 100 times, but only 2 comments so far), but there's an interview of sorts with Joffa in the new Crash issue in my other topic. Feedback is very welcome, so even if you didn't enjoy it let me know

New "special" issue of CRASH (with tribute to Jonathan Smith)
Hi everyone, so it's not really an issue of CRASH and also lacking a bit as far as page numbers are concerned. This is just me having a bit of fun, and also serves as a tribute to Jonathan Smith who died on June 26th, 2010. https://i.imgur.com/un7SX1w.jpg How to read this: You may download a 14 mega...

It is from the 1st stage of Combat School 128k by Ocean (not sure if the tune plays in later stages too, could be).

Re: Friday quiz!
LOL, 30 year wait ... I won't come (tied) first again for a long time, I had this week off so I actually sat on my computer on a Friday morning. Won't happen again so soon as I'm never home before 4pm on that day.
But it was a fun quiz, thanks for doing these!

Remembering Jonathan Smith
Well, it's been exactly 10 years now that Jonathan Smith died and I assume he was an inspiration for many of us, so I'd like to post this topic as a kind of commemoration (or w/e is the proper term in English). He used to be quite active in the WoS forums back in the day and I'm sure there are plent...

Re: Friday quiz!
That explosion in the top right looked familiar, thought it was from Firefly which it wasn't, so I checked everything by Ocean which took a while. But it was fruitful as I found a few things (in some games not made by Ocean, but published by them at some point, like as re-releases so they were also ...

That version looks great with some cool effects not present in the Speccy version, like the teleportation "after-image" when you move up/down. The character reminds me of a mix of the ones in Dig Dug and Mr.Do.

Re: Introduce yourself!
Hi all, yep, another WoS Forumite, some of you will remember me. For those who don't, I'm from Cologne, Germany and got my first Speccy 16k in 1985, then upgraded onto 48k/+2 models shortly after. Played tons of games till the early 90s and while the Speccy games certainly got eclipsed by their cons...

Re: New WoS and ZXDB
I'm sure most, if not all, of the long term WoS users are fully aware of SC so let them come if/when they're ready. They'll be more than welcome. Cheers vampyre! Yes, I for one certainly was aware of this place for years and have been reading quite a few things but simply couldn't be bothered to ma...
