Re: ZXSpin assembler not working

just out of curiosity, how do i save to tape or disk if i make a game? :?: Dev-wise I use ZX Spin to check if the code I've done is ok, the only thing that doesn't work properly is the beeper. When I'm happy I use Pasmo to compile and turn it into a tape format. If you want to add a loading screen ...

Re: ZXSpin assembler not working

If you're using 0.7 like me, try using whatever version @namco is using. Or give up!
It's version 0.666

Re: ZX Spectrum Next

Had mine about 3 months now. Pleased with it (housed it in a 48k case). You guys saying you will buy retail, don't think there are any plans for a retail release...at least none have been announced or spoken of. Let's at least wait until the Kickstarter is finally over and done with before we start...

Elite is nice and does it's job at being a great technical achievement but I'm still voting Exolon.

Yes, it is 2017.

Excellent, I'll have a play of that and see if I can get the screen bit added! :)

Re: Old new software

From last year's BASIC Jam is my entry: https://namco.itch.io/brexit-the-final-countdown I spent some hours yesterday re-coding it onto 48k BASIC and adding some updated code. More needs adding and should be finished in a couple of months. Speaking of which - I can add screen loaders to my Z80 games...

Re: The best classic Speccy game beginning with D: discussion

I originally played Death Stalker on Quattro Combat (where I was first introduced to Ninja Massacre). Never got very far when I was young but recently I did get further with it. In my first Z80 game, Bob the Space Janitor - written for Speccy Jam 2, I paid homage to the menu option that was featured...

[Not MIA]Virgin's Judge Dredd

Not sure where to put this but I remembered that someone had found and uploaded the disk version of Virgin's Judge Dredd. This was never put on WoS, I've checked ZXDB and I can't see that there either. Could someone add it please? The source is here (just search for Judge Dredd and you'll find the d...

Re: Spec Resolutions 2018

Start on my Spectrum Next game Finish off Brexit: The Final Countdown. Bob the Space Janitor can wait for a bit. Both games have been worked on to finish them off but Brexit: TFC is in most need of finishing and can be done quickly. I do also have the GPD Win on the way, so that should help with th...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next

I didn't back it as I had little money at the time but I am looking forward to a retail release.

I have a couple of planned projects for it - one starting fairly soon and the other starting at the end of the year (2018).

Re: ZXSpin Assembler

Both ways work as long as the vertical axis is RSTd first followed the horizontal axis. I think that's why Jonathan uses them that was round, because we say X,Y and the ROM print uses the vertical cord first. That's fine! :) Oh and it's probably best to use brackets when seeing things like this: ld...

Re: ZXSpin Assembler

R-Tape Beaten me to it, I was just about to mention that line (but not the solution).

However, comparing this code to mine (from a earlier game):

Code: Select all

ld a,(plx)
rst 16
ld a,(ply)
rst 16
Are the x and y values the wrong way around?
