Re: The best Speccy game by RetroSouls: discussion

Most of these games win joint 1st place on the podium. Even when I've already completed many of these games I will give them another play due to how great the games are. It is a tough tough choice to pick one.

ICCUPS - waited for ages for this to appear, bought it full price. Disappointed yes but played...

Re: Hydrofool 128K.

Mind you its probably not the first game for there to be plans for a 128K extended version. I've seen one advert for a 128K version of DD or DD2 but I can't find said advert again it may of been in a supplement, someone else confirmed they had seen it too. Dynamite Dan with 128k music was, If I rem...

Re: Show It! (forum game)

Can someone explain the 'Stop Virus' and Dizzy game connection? I can't see it... :? As the Dizzy folk proudly lined up on the title page they were happy, a game that involved all of them. "it's all about us!" one of them squeaked in eggcitement. It could be that the browser is not displa...

Lerm copier program.... I've been rumbled!

That was entertaning, repeated on 0.25 speed and got to see those screens a lot clearer.

I'd rather watch that for 3 minutes than suffer another demo with the overused, pointless and utterly annoying epilepsy seizure enducing whiteflash effect.

Re: Spectrum emulator that can run slower than 100%

EmuZWin on windows XP can run from 5% to 800% with time roll back left ALT+left arrow key will skip back 2 seconds (more if you keep it pressed). Save your game as a .z80 file in your current emulator and reload it into EmuZwin as it sometimes doesn't play nice with .tap or TZX files. Remember to sw...

This is a nice print routine from Agent X II, from where you have to type in a password to allow the loading of parts 2 and 3. Uses the ROM print routine. Org Any LD A,2 ; Upper 21 lines CALL 05633 ; CHAN_OPEN CALL PrintRoutine ; directly aftwards place the text to print to the screen ; you can use ...

Re: Byte saving PRINT AT in machinecode

While coding a VVC3-2022 star on the ZX81 I wondered if a trick I used there would work on the ZX Spectrum too. I found this routine in the ROM to set PRINT AT with BC registers ; PRINT AT B,C;"A" ld bc,#0a01 push bc call #a9b pop bc ld a,65 rst 16 ret This routine will not only save 2 by...
