Re: "Golden Shoe" by Ocean?

I'm not sure about "not adding much" as I think you've pretty much solved the mystery! ;) That first link has adidas Championship Football and adidas Golden Shoe going to the same entry. The second link has adidas Golden Shoe as an alternative name for adidas Championship Football. On that...

Re: Judge Dredd, the recovered version, not in SC database?

Spooky! I was looking at this just last night because I was trying to see if there was ever a Ricochet re-release of the Melbourne House game like there was on the C64 (there wasn't, apparently... or at least I couldn't find any signs of one). Anyway, just thought I'd add a link to the original WOS ...

Some more names, all from Reaktor games, and all taken from the credits section on the rear of their respective inlays: Challenge of the Gobots - Eddy King (pic below from my own scan) Deadringer - Richard Edington (inlay is in the archive if you want to check! ;)) Mountie Mick's Deathride - Johnny ...

Re: Little bugs in the database

Whilst I agree about Beach Volley, Inspector Gadget etc I'd still stick with the original publisher as Ocean, Melbourne House etc as they would have licensed them to Erbe, even if they chose not to publish the games themselves in the UK. They were the ones who produced the games and originally adver...

Re: Cover artists

I can help with Scramble Spirits. Here's the bottom left of the manual... https://i.imgur.com/btPoWnA.jpg You can sort of make it out on the actual cover of the game but they slapped the SEGA logo over it. Likewise, it's slightly visible (when you know where to look) on the adverts in the mags too b...

Could do with a better copy at some point but I guess this'll do in the meantime, right? :D

I'm pretty sure I've got The Fall of Rome somewhere too but that wasn't in especially good nick either. If I find it then I'll upload it.

Re: Little bugs in the database

To add to the Laser Squad info above, I remember doing some poking around with the various releases and expansion pack etc. last year. I posted all my corrections/findings into this thread: https://www.worldofspectrum.org/forums/discussion/55057/ It's a shame that there's probably a ton of other fix...

Don't forget to check out Slope's Game Room's epic "KickScammers: The VEGA+ Scandal" whilst you can. Daniel posted earlier to say that it will apparently be deleted tomorrow at midday (UK time) "due to a few issues behind the scenes"... 18/12/2018 - Post edited by PJ - Link delet...

I might just really suck at this game but maaaan it is unforgiving! Even just getting the game to start by pressing Enter seems to involve some special skill! Parsifal seems to be extremely allergic to acorns and water so I dunno why he thinks he's likely to survive alive skulls, snakes, wizards, sk...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Discussion

Obviously you know I am not someone who ever defended the Vega+ campaign (quite the contrary) but there are some fundamental differences between the two campaigns and they really can't be compared as like for like. As far as I'm concerned, to even say that they're both behind schedule would be incor...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Discussion

I have to say that I disagree about any similarities between the Vega+ campaign and the Spectrum Next. I never wanted a Vega+ and I'm certainly glad I didn't back it. The whole project should have stopped as soon as the only two people who knew what they were doing left. The so-called "updates&...

Cheat mode in Super Robin Hood (Codemasters)?

I've tried to keep this relatively ramble-free and coherent but essentially: Is there a cheat mode in Super Robin Hood that no-one's found yet? (And do the Oliver Twins really like the Spec? ;-)) OK... the longer version: I saw a video earlier today which mentioned a built-in cheat mode for Ghost Hu...

Re: Info regarding media - e.g. tape/disk/ROM cartridge etc?

Cheers, Einar! I thought it probably would be stored in ZXDB but it would great if Spectrum Computing could display it. I occasionally come across stuff like games on disk that have no reference to +3 versions on WOS but since the info there hasn't been updated in years (yeah, I know... like a stuck...

Info regarding media - e.g. tape/disk/ROM cartridge etc?

Sorry if this is covered somewhere already but I did have a quick search and wasn't able to find a thread that seemed to answer my question. I don't know if my query relates to ZXDB or whether it actually relates to the Spectrum Computing site but I assume that the site displays all the info that is...

Re: Questprobe comics

I owned a copy of Spider-Man so I can say with absolute certainty that it came with a comic book but having had another look online, I couldn't find a single copy of The Hulk that came with a comic book so I'm not so sure now that it did come with one. I assumed it did because the Spidey game had bu...

Re: Questprobe comics

Someone may correct me but I'm pretty sure only the first two actually came with a comic. The Fantastic Four one came in a double cassette case as well so there'd be no space for a comic, unlike with the larger boxes that were used for Hulk and Spidey. I've had a fairly good look online and can't fi...

Too many Lode Runners!!

There have been a couple of posts on WOS recently about Lode Runner and they got me digging through my own notes I'd made when I converted my copy. I thought it had all been sorted back in 2011 but it looks like the two sides of the tape weren't added to the archive so it's a bit messy and there's a...

Re: Screenshot fixes

I think it’s best to take ZXDB for what it is—a database , rather than a preservation archive. Some compromises have to be made. I agree but aren't the screenshots we're talking about just those that are hosted by Spectrum Computing (i.e. part of the archive here), they're not actually part of zxdb...

Jasper! is by Paul Cemmick https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Cemmick His signature is on the bottom left of the cover but isn't very clear. Re: Cover artists

I can't speak for Kweepa (obviously!) but I think crediting the loading screen to Brian Bolland doesn't sound right. The cover artwork is by Mike McMahon and it could be argued that the loading screen is based on an image by Brian Bolland but that might be stretching it a bit. It's not an exact copy...
