Re: New Database Model ZXDB

druellan you may want to give bookmarks.google.com a try as it allows to add tags and comments to every post url that you bookmark. From time to time you could export to html and publish that page. An example: speccy21.updog.co/googlebookmarks.html

Re: New Database Model ZXDB

I think the one that got a built-in preview was an Excel spreadsheet stored in Google Drive. Maybe it doesn't work for Google Docs spreadsheets. indeed, xls excel files are embedded in and can be edited by any collaborator from within google drive. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1poQ4pfHE4cZSwpLr...

One idea would be to search as you type and show every word that starts with the first consonant letters, just the first three consonants.

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Discussion

The problem has been and always will be that a purely mechanical membrane keyboard system is never good at making two independent switch contacts at the same time. Even during the days of Sinclair. Far too often on my ZX Spectrum+ keyboards, I get the wrong action unless I press the key squarely. W...

1. Lines or parts of lines seem to be deleted on saving and reloading. I think it's something to do with where the cursor is on saving; if it's outside of a line, all is fine, but if it's within a line, parts sometimes go missing. A couple of things that seem to alleviate this issue: Press control+...

Re: The ZX Spectrum Explored by Tim Hartnell

The search function in the above book is ready! It took the text three days to get indexed, which was expected when reading the FAQ. Search inside is not working for a book? Books are not always indexed quickly and sometimes, due to factors such as size, cannot be indexed at all. Sometimes it is a b...

Oh Ralf made a rzx walkthrough. I know zx81, the author of zxbaremulator, is a big fan of this game and finally djnzx48. There you have a big team! :P would it be much work to add simple things to make the game easy while keeping it interesting? A few ay ingame effects, subtle recolouring, adding te...

Re: Those games that you couldn't get...

Did anyone try to Poke the Abbey? I mean, something to disable timers, the order in which things have to be picked up or the time in which events have to be accomplished, make the abbot less likely to apply strict rules (after all Connery is an important guest who's been called to investigate). I do...

I found the beta translation here https://www.worldofspectrum.org/forums/discussion/comment/428227/#Comment_428227 A few suggestions for a mod could be changing the keyboard control like in those 3d game maker mods, a bit of recolouring to increase contrast, alleviate the maze in the dark, enable wa...

Re: The ZX Spectrum Explored by Tim Hartnell

Another alternative could be to upload pdf books to openlibrary.org For instance see these z80 assembler books, https://openlibrary.org/search?q=Z80+assembler&mode=ebooks&m=edit&has_fulltext=true You could just provide such "read" links which open pdf books with a nice reader. ...

Hi Peter. Let me insist as I believe Archive.org makes the OCR from any zipped folder with images that you upload. Besides, you can also updoad other files like pdf. Have you tried the magazine above? The search function works really well. Perhaps you just have to upload a zipped folder with images ...

it may be as easy as uploading books in the format of cbr,cbz to archive.org or use their viewer from your own host assuming the script is free to use.
see this magazine for example https://archive.org/details/Scream.Quee ... BR-GREASY/

yes, I have another book from Tim Hartnell and tried this program https://www.naps2.com with a flatbed scanner. It is a time consuming process and quite hard for the book spine. I would like to know some tips to keep all pages the same size, remove yellow backgrounds and letters from the other side ...
