I have been contacted by Egoitz who is planning on running the Basque Tournament of ZX Spectrum. Egoitz tells me he normally runs tournaments of retro computers and consoles, but wants to run a Spectrum specific event.
The event is planned for the 11th August in Larrabetzu (Basque Country). 4-6 players will play to 3-5 games.
I have the contact details for Egoitz which I can give you. Just send me a PM.
Basque Tournament of ZX Spectrum - 11th August in Larrabetzu
Re: Basque Tournament of ZX Spectrum - 11th August in Larrabetzu
Meh...
I'd like to attend (not to game, I'm not a gamer) and it's not too far from home... but with COVID I don't want to go outside of Navarra. Not because of fears of being infected, just because I don't want to know what the Ertzaintza thinks about that trip.

Just to let you know I had a message from Egoitz that he had to change the date. The new date is 25 and 26 of September.
Egoitz has expressly requested I post his email and phone number, so here we go:

Egoitz recently sent this report. Sounds like a great time was had by all!
I.Basque Tournament of ZX Spectrum 2020
Last Friday, September 25, we enjoyed a very interesting retro afternoon. 7 players and friends got together to play ZX Spectrum games but also some Amstrad CPC 464 and Commodore Amiga 500 games. The tournaments are played at the Cafe Berria bar, in the Santutxu neighbourhood, on its second floor. A very cosy atmosphere. We got to the bar and I pulled out the ZX Spectrum +2. Gloria, one of the best players, was surprised to see the spectrum and many memories came to her as a child since as a child she played a lot on the spectrum with her older brothers. The spectrum was the first microcomputer we played and we all had a good time. While we waited for them to load we talked a little and although it was a shame that the Power Drift failed to load, we really enjoyed playing Stardust and the great Game Over. In the end, after intense games, the most regular player was Egoitz but there was a lot of equality. Our idea is to organize a new tournament in December.
Results (the score obtained in parentheses)
Stardust Game Over
1-Egoitz Campo 5 points (3.120) 1-Gloria Marcos 7 points (1.380)
2-Natalia Santalices 4 points (3.053) 2-David Bonilla 6 points (1.120)
3-David Bonilla 3 points (3.003) 3-Natalia Santalices 5 points (1.090)
4-Andi Erromo 2 points (2.105) 4-Egoitz Campo 4 points (880)
