Thanks to support from Paul Andrews and Retro Computers Ltd, we're pleased to announce the 2018 Crap Games Competition.
We have our first entry already from Kweepa to tie in with the Winter Olympics (unofficially of course) and I've set the first two challenges, both of which are fairly technical.
To find out more see related threads on
Comp.Sys.Sinclair, follow us on
The Twitter or see the official
Internet Website.
Regards,
Shaun.

Maybe so but I wanted to keep it going (because last year's competition was a bit... stop... start) so I made several entries under my Donkeysoft label with this exact aim.
With no news from last years compo, I decided to start the ball rolling but I don't have any web servers. Paul stepped in to help. And yes, I know Retro Games Ltd are the people behind TheC*4Mini, but I reckon Paul's a Speccy man at heart.
Regards,
Shaun.

Come on, don't just laze around
watching the Olympics, take part in the Winter Neurobics Pentathlon! Let's see if you can beat this score!

Ski Jump - 253.6
Slalom - 62.92
Curling - 34.96
I couldn't get Speed skating to work, and I crashed 20 twenty times on the luge.
Kweepa will never win this comp though, he can't resist adding interesting features and making them playable.

As I said on The Twitter today, I thought his Doom port was actually really good in the context, and even worked on 16K (without hi-resolution graphics of course).
I think I'm going to send Kweepa an advanced payment of Polo mints in anticipation
Regards,
Shaun.

Speed skating - it doesn't actually display anything on the screen while you are skating. You just have to follow the instructions and wait to cross the finish line!
Luge - yeah, it's tough! That's why it's the final event!

Ah, bollocks, I sent Shaun an old buggy version of the game with the Luge impossible. Extra crap points!
Here's the correct version:

Shaun, could you please update the version on cgc?

Fixing bugs? What is this concept?
I'll call it v1.1 so people can play both version.
[edit] New 'fixed' version now available. Yikes!

Shaun.

I haven't worked out the Luge yet - I keep crashing. Screen shot is from the 16K version

Fortress is an interesting seeming game, but umm... how does the attacker win? The instructions do not explain
I gave Plumbers a try. The characters are obnoxious and the gameplay is arbitrary. Crap! (Nicely implemented though!)

Some graphics for a new game... can you tell what it is yet?

The UDG king has returned! Though they're probably a modern reference I haven't heard of, I'm going to guess South Park.

I don't think it's possible to beat the computer, and that's probably the whole point of the game.

Shaun.
