I can only vote for the one game i played, and i didn't even like it !!
I don't have anything cool to put here, so i'll just be off now to see a priest with yeast stuck between his teeth and his friend called Keith who's a hairpiece thief...

Yeah, difficult election this time because there's not any outstanding game but went for Yie Ar Kung Fu, a good conversion of the arcade, with good graphics and sounds.
Re: The best classic Speccy game beginning with Y: vote
I haven't played any of these games to death, but I went for "Yes Prime Minister".
It's a decent graphic adventure, and a tie-in that made a proper effort to match the TV series. And the alphabet so far has plenty of action games.
Humphrey Appleby: might I take the opportunity to congratulate the minister on a most 'bold' and 'courageous' decision.

I voted for Yes, Prime Minister as it's a game that I enjoy playing quite a bit even though I have never watched the original TV series or the short-lived remake on GOLD a few years back.
Re: The best classic Speccy game beginning with Y: vote
Had to vote for Yie Ar King-Fu. It's the only game in the list that I've actually played and even then that was sh*te.

Went for Yes, Prime Minister.
I used to like beat em ups, but I wasn't that impressed with Yie Ar, it was OK but I felt it had less strategy/gameplay than others when it came to the moves (bit of a button masher).

As to Yes, Prime Minister, just a silly question (I didn't know the TV show):
Why do characters in the loading screen have these so big noises?
Because they're politicians?

Just your classic lampooning.
I think I enjoy the TV episodes more now than I did when they were first aired on British TV.
Anyway looks like Yie Ar Kung Fu has stormed into the lead..!

Yogi is not happy with the outcome. He deployed his whole Yogi army to no avail.
Re: The best classic Speccy game beginning with Y: vote
Difficult one. Yie Ar Kung Fu gave me the most fun back in the 80s (the 128k version is especially good), but there’s better ways of playing the game now - the Gameboy Advance Konami collection is probably the best, unless you’re emulating via Mame.
I also enjoyed the first Yogi Bear, after picking it up on the Alternative re-release. I’ve not played the other Yogi Bear games, so I’ll give those a try. I’d also forgotten about Yeti, written by Christian Urquhar and whose games I used to really enjoy with Gunrunner being a real favourite. I’ll also give that a blast later and see if they’re worth a vote!

I bet for any Yogi bear game. Sure winners!
Re: The best classic Speccy game beginning with Y: vote
After all, the sum of their votes is an astounding amount.
Re: The best classic Speccy game beginning with Y: vote
Indeed, if one of the Yogis had 18 or so more votes, it'd be be in with a chance.
Re: The best classic Speccy game beginning with Y: vote
God, these are all terrible. I voted for "Yie Ar KING Fu" (fire the proof-reader!), but it was C64 nostalgia.

Okay... can I instead vote for the utility "Yards, Feet and Inches" by Penny Vickers/Sinclair Research? What a classic.
By the way, how come lottery predictors are filed by WoS under "Gambling: Utilities", but every other type of utility comes under "Utility: (whatever)"? Is this related to the coyness about "adult" titles? Are kids typing "FREE ROMS" into their iPhones, accidentally winding up on WoS, and then getting addicted to high-stakes poker?
